I am sardonic, laid-back, and logical.
My Self-Summary
I am a self-described geek (since this is a self-summary everything
here is self-described?) who derives as much amusement from as many
small things as I can.
I dislike feeling like I should be egotistical when describing
myself. What is the suitable level of modesty here? I guess I'm
smart (people tell me I am), easy-going and logical. My humour is
often self-deprecating sarcasm, but sometimes not. I grew up in the
country, so I have those famed country manners ya'll hear about so
much (or maybe not).
I love my motorbike. There are some days where riding it makes me
unbelievably happy, it's like an isolation from the rest of the
world in a way that a car never was.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a media company.
Right now I'm living for holidays. I just returned from a
snowboarding adventure in New Zealand. Already planning the next
one.
I’m really good at
Computers, fixing things, electronic stuff.
I'm really bad at not coming across like a complete bore when
describing myself. The questions seem so general and open ended; I
don't know where to start.
I'm fairly good at debating, although maybe I shouldn't be proud of
that. I'm one of those annoying people who seems to be able to do
everything reasonably well, but the downside is I'm not amazing at
anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I seem strangely up-to-date with current events. I seem to
take and interest in almost everything and I'm generally "smart".
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
Robin Hobb, Harry Potter, Simon Singh
Really I'll read anything though. Classics, fiction, non-fiction,
kids books. When I was younger I used to have to read myself to
sleep so it's something very comforting.
Movies/TV:
House, BSG, The Princess Bride
Music:
Finch, Alexisonfire, Nine Inch Nails - at the moment.
Food:
Curry, Pasta, Steak. I was really fussy as a little kid, but I'm
getting better at food as I grow older. Still can't stand Mushrooms
but most other things are okay.
The six things I could never do without
Computer, Internet, iPhone, Friends, The prospect of
adventure.
All of the above are negotiable and I can probably do without them
all if there were something else.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where the loose change comes from. How is it possible I end up with
this much loose change?!
Okay so I spend far more time thinking about what I should be doing
with myself, and then not acting on that because it sounds so
far-fetched. I guess this means I'm a dreamer?
On a typical Friday night I am
At home being geeky, or out with friends. Generally the former,
sometimes the latter. Gym is taking up more and more of my time
lately. Monday, Wednesday, Friday is a nice routine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I play computer games! Is this such a private thing nowadays? Oh I
like Pride and Prejudice....
You should message me if
You're a like-minded soul who is easy going and fun to be
around.
You live in Sydney and don't mind a smart(arse) geeky guy.
