My self-summary
I'm a rather carefree woman filled with endless curiosity about the world. I love to travel, explore and marvel at the unexpected. I enjoy all art forms, photography, music, poetry, politics, swimming, city walking, visiting galleries, strolling through festivals and fairs, needlepoint (trust me, it's a great way to meditate), and zentangling. Oh, yes and raspberry iced tea!

Sometimes, my friends say I'm too complicated, then laugh. I think it's their way of getting a rile out of me. I simply say "I'm not complicated, I'm spirited." ;>

In this stage of my life, I seek a relationship built on trust, honesty, intellect and passion. From my perspective alone, it is important to remain open and teachable in all circumstances.

I am a woman who does not follow a man. Nor do I walk before him. I want to be in a relationship with an equal.
What I’m doing with my life
I am enjoying my life. That's it. After many twists and turns (so to speak), I've found the right profession for me. I am in a place where I am happy and content. I have not qualms with my chosen field and no regrets. I am an artist by nature and choice. This is what I am doing with my life and will continue to do so. It took me awhile to get to this point, but each step was necessary. So, here I am--paintbrush in hand!
I’m really good at
I'm really good at seeing all the angles of issues, listening, and mediating difficult situations.

For whatever reason, I'm good at spotting awesome trees. I have no idea why I love trees. I'm not really an environmentalist. I think it's because I love texture so much and use it in my art. So, I find the best trees and like to photograph them. This began a few years back.

My friends say I'm really 'animated.' I don't know if it's a compliment or not. I'll look at it in a positive light. I'm good at keeping the past where it belongs and focusing on the present. As the saying goes, "the future will come soon enough."
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, the first thing would probably be my eyes. At least that's what I've been told.

Beyond the physical appearance, it would probably be my laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a book/film reviewer, so this could be a really long list. ;) But, here are a few:

Books: "Fruits of the Earth" by Andre Gide, "The Brothers Karamazov" by Dostoevsky, "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand, "Blood for Flowers" by Anita Amirrezvani, "The New York Trilogy" by Paul Auster, "Brida" by Paulo Coelho, "Kite Runner", "The Financier" by Theodore Dreiser, "Sister Carrie" by Theodore Dreiser, "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, The Trial" and "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka, "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn.

Movies: "Godfather I, II", "Schindler's List", "Malcolm X", "The King's Speech", "A Separation", "Up", "Beauty and the Beast", "Shutter Island", "The Shawshank Redemption", "Breakfast at Tiffiny's", "Days of Wine and Roses", "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", "Arsenic and Old Lace".

See what I mean? And, I'm being brief! ;D

TV Shows: House, Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, The Colbert Report, The John Daily Show.

When it comes to music, I pretty much go to Pandora, 8tracks. I'm pretty open to just about anything. The only genres I don't listen to are country and rap.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about my artwork. I'm constantly thinking about new techniques and methods to improve my work.

Aside from my art, I think a lot about my surroundings. Like anyone else, I think about anything ranging from what I need to buy from the grocery store to what's happening in the world today. I know, a bit of a stretch. Still, it's true.
On a typical Friday night I am
On a typical Friday night, I'm usually at home relaxing ready to watch a cool movie or reading/listening to book after a long work week. If not, I'm out at dinner with close friends and maybe a film, if time permits. There's always a third, but the great thing about a third option is that it's spontaneous. =)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hmmm....I'll save that one for later.
