I am a geek, smart, and funny.

My Self-Summary

That's right. I'm a geek. I still play Dungeons and Dragons and occasionally World of Warcraft. I'm pretty much a homebody, but I do like to go out with friends to see movies or just hang out and jam on some rockband or guitar hero bass. My friends have small children so our excursions have been fewer and further between lately. My geekiness even extends to my profession (go figure). I am a network administrator/computer trainer/PC repair technician/hold your hand an teach you how to do it kind of guy.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently I'm working, taking a few classes at the local JC, having a good time with my friends, and looking for that special someone. As I get older I see the importance of eating healthier and exercising so I've been trying to accomplish those feats. I used to run a lot in my youth and started up again. Ran my first 5K in over 20 years in May! I'm also trying my hand at writing since I have a decent imagination, but don't let anyone fool you, writing is hard work!

I’m really good at

Having fun and trivia games are my forte. For some reason I have developed an uncanny ability to recall useless information at will. Drives my Mom nuts.

The first things people usually notice about me

Since this is not a useless fact I know nothing about it. Perhaps you can tell me?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like to read, sometimes a lot. Mostly fantasy, but also a lot of non-fiction, especially in the areas of psychology, philosophy, and religion. My favorite books include: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, most of the works of R.A. Salvatore and David & Leigh Eddings, and any book that contains Heathcliff or Calvin & Hobbes.

I'm a hopeless romantic so any movie along those lines gets me every time: Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, Never Been Kissed, 40 Year Old Virgin. Yeah, this probably makes me sound wimpy but I don't care. I love a good comedy, especially the raunchy ones like Old School and the classic Animal House (Toga!). Action flicks are also very cool, especially if they are fantasy (Lord of the Rings) or historical (Braveheart) or based on awesome comic book characters (Iron Man!).

As far as music goes, I, and you, can blame my (older) brother for my tastes. We shared a room growing up so I had to listen to what he listened to. In the 80s, that meant Metal. Metallica is by far my favorite, but I also like AC/DC, Motley Crue, and a whole slew of other hairbands. Don't get me wrong, I like newer stuff too. Tool and System of a Down rock. I do enjoy a little classical and classic rock as well. Don't care much for most modern rap (the really old stuff like Run DMC and older is cool) and the twang of country sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me, but most other stuff is cool.

I love food and will eat just about anything. My biggest exception are brussel sprouts. Anyone who tells you they taste like mini-cabbages is a liar. I like cabbage, but those little globs are just plain nasty. Just about everything else is fair game: sushi, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, you name it. Being a bachelor I can cook a little. Nothing too fancy. My specialties are fish tacos grilled on my George Foreman grill and homemade pizzas on wheat pita bread.

The six things I could never do without

1) Water (about all I drink)
2) The Internet
3) Books
4) Good friends
5) A nice job
6) A car

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Other worlds and times.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either reading a book at home, playing World of Warcraft online or hanging out with friends at a local game/comic shop.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

What? You want more than me admitting I am a geek!? Hmm, I think we'll have to get to know each other more than that.

You should message me if

...you don't smoke.
...you are not really into drinking.
...you like geeks.
...you think I'm hot!
