daring, humorous, and intuitive
My self-summary Propose an edit
Besides going to college full-time and working part-time at a
supermarket (cafe on the weekends and cooking Asian buffet and
pizzas on the weekdays), I also spend five days a week volunteering
at a non-profit and no-kill cat shelter. I do all of their web
design, take most of the photographs, and participate in many of
their fundraisers. Basically, I spend more time doing work for them
than my paid job. It really has nothing to do with my future
career; I just like cats and doing things to improve the
world.
I have three of my own cats (a thirteen year old Maine Coon mix
female named Pounce, a four year old black and white Domestic
Shorthair male named Yoshi, and a seven month old Blue Point
Siamese male named Thuddleton), and I would like to have even more
in the future. Someday I'd like to open my own cat and homeless
shelters (no, not in the same building), preferably in the Boston
area. That requires money, however, so hopefully I fall into a lot
of that soon.
I have been very Jainist about killing other living creatures
lately, and I try my best to respect the world around me. My
co-workers thought I was crazy when I freed a fly from a bottle of
onion powder before throwing it in the trash can (I did this
outside). To me, there was no reason why the fly should have had to
suffer through suffocation by onions. I am of the firm belief that
taking care of the planet and its creatures isn't liberal; it's
just common sense.
Although I am agnostic and try not to associate myself with any
brand of religion, I do find myself agreeing with much of the
Buddhist philosophy. It seems to have the healthiest impact on the
mind and soul, and it has helped me greatly in letting go of
grudges, practicing forgiveness, and becoming more patient with the
stupidity on the road. Too much of life is spent under the
influence of negativity, and I am trying to free myself from
that.
As far as romantic relationships go, I feel like I have had more
than my share over the past two years. Things do happen, however,
so maybe I should put a kind of disclaimer on here: I have only
ever been interested in older men. I am not excluding guys younger
than or close to my age, but I have just never felt any attraction
towards them in that regard. To give you an idea, my last ex was
eight years older than me and the one before him was ten years
older than me.
I think it has more to do with experience than anything. Guys my
age just do not have the experience and wisdom I need and desire. I
want someone intelligent who will help me learn more about the
world and who will actually improve who I am as a person. I want
someone who knows about the human psyche and who actually has
empathy and who has somewhat of an idea of what he's doing.
I am also highly into bdsm and find myself very bored with those
who are strictly vanilla. Creepy old men and amateurs, this is not
an invitation into my pants. I would only do such activities with
someone I truly and deeply trusted, and that will not happen in a
short period of time (nor should it!). I say no to amateurs because
I still have so much more to learn and I do not want to waste my
time on those who don't have a clue.
Please do not confuse this for me having no interest in romance or
affection, though. I grew up with Disney, so I have unrealistic
expectations about love. I believe dreams do come true, I wish upon
stars, and I know the most powerful thing in the world is true
love's kiss (points to you if you recognize which movie that line
comes from!).
As far as friends go, I am open to pretty much everyone who isn't
socially inept! I have a large variety of pals from all walks of
life and do not like to limit myself to a specific type of person.
I might come off as intimidating, but I'm actually a huge pushover
and like to cuddle. :)
(By the way, OKCupid seems to think I'm a Republican, but that's
only because I'm libertarian.)
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
As I said, I am currently working part-time at a supermarket to pay
for school and earn extra money. I also volunteer at a cat shelter
and often spend more time there than at my paid job. I am majoring
in Quinsigamond Community College's criminal justice program in
Worcester, MA at the moment. After that, my plan is to transfer to
Northeastern University and receive my Bachelor's Degree from them
in CJ again. My minor is sociology, and I do plan on becoming
fluent in Italian once I am there. I will more than likely continue
on at either Northeastern or another school to earn my Master's
Degree as well. My main goal at the end of this is to become a
homicide detective in Boston, MA. I have a long way to go, even
after I have completed my education, but I have a real passion for
helping people and my interests have always brought me back to
working for "the force."

...making people laugh, apparently. Also, I have a knack for
speaking my mind and often pissing people off in the process.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
This would seem to be either my odd choice of clothing, my long
[dyed] red hair, my blue eyes, or my random choice of hair
clips. People always seem to remember me after our first meeting,
even though I sometimes wish they wouldn't.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
My mind is constantly in thought. It is actually one of the worst
things I do: think too much. It takes me at least an hour to fall
asleep because I think so much that I am unable to relax, and even
then, I can tell my dreams are full of my brain attempting to
further analyze my earlier thoughts. I could put some of them here,
but the truth is that I think about anything and everything. I like
to gain knowledge and understanding, and constantly focusing on
these subjects allows me to come to learn more about them.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'm not willing to "admit" anything. It takes a lot for me to trust
someone, and anyone interested in my private thoughts would have to
contact me themselves.
