My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am warm, open-minded, smart, fun and compassionate...I am ready to create something amazing with the right partner.

I'm from California, and a long time Bay Area dweller. I like yoga, provocative conversation, hot springs, the ocean, gardening, music, writing, giant trees, social entrepreneurship, making up silly songs, healthy-veggie food, making homemade food, going to new restaurants and I love road trips.

I am a proud mama of a smart and spunky four year old boy.

I am looking for a man who is wise, kind, generous, courageous, solid, humble and loves what he does & who he is. We don't have to have the same interests, but sharing common values, and a collaborative sense of adventure is key. Let's create something beautiful in the time we have.

Check out this inspiring piece - it says a lot about what I care about :) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/muhammad-ali/tribute-to-nelson-mandela_b_4340781.html
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a Fellowship Director at an organization that works with socially-conscious business leaders. I am passionate about what I do, and enjoy connecting visionaries and innovative thinkers.

I was a professional modern dancer and used to be a festival producer and dance-theater / creative writing teacher. I have worked at some of the Bay Area's most effective nonprofit organizations, and I have a soft spot for green or local businesses.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Living life fully; Bringing amazing people together; Making a great meal out of whatever I find; Organizing events; Finding solutions; Authentic communication; Raising a beautiful little boy; Getting everyone to sing; Finding great deals; Collaboration and team work; Picking out the perfect gift; Working hard, then seriously relaxing; Noticing little things; Laughing at myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not sure, maybe my smile or open personality :) (For what it's worth, most people think I'm younger than I am - mostly that's a compliment, but maybe I'm immature for my age.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I have wide-ranging musical tastes: Soul, Funk, Reggae, Jazz, Folk, old school Hip Hop, Rock. Sade, Nneke, Fela, The Roots, Michelle Ndege'Ocello, Erikah Badu, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Prince, Kronos Quartet, Pentatonix, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, India Arie, Tracy Chapman...(I saw Fela! the musical on Broadway in NYC - it was incredible!).

I LOVE movies...too many to mention... Beasts of the Southern Wild, Whale Rider, the Matrix, Y Tu Mama..., American Beauty, Fire by Deepa Mehta, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Shawshank Redemption, Man Facing Southeast, Dead Man Walking, Do The Right Thing. I tend to like socially-conscious documentaries. Lately, the Lego Movie and Tinkerbell, of course!

Rilke, Rumi, Gibran, Barbara Kingsolver, Toni Morrison, Chinua Achebe, Gabriel García Márquez, Isabelle Allende, Howard Zinn. Books on mindful parenting...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My son tops this list by a million :)
But, also...
Being around smart, compassionate people;
The sky, sun, stars, trees;
Soaking in hot water (would be tough to give up);
Clean air, water;
Music
Close friends
Lately, home made chai with fresh ginger and tumeric
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The people that matter to me; How to live a fun and balanced life; How to be of better service to both friends and strangers; How being a parent is so deeply transformational and relentless at the same time; Creating an outrageously beautiful life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes at home chilling out with Netflix, at an art event, a movie, a great restaurant, or walking around the lake...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I watched every season of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. Deep down I wish I was Shonda Rhimes.

Also, I admit I am not compelled by OKC main profile pics where guys are wearing sunglasses, or are holding a drink at a bar. I have to get over it to read more...

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are a grown-up, who still knows how to have fun... someone who has been through a rite of passage, and come out on the other side. Someone who is strong enough to not have to be right, courageous enough to love, and lives with a spirit of abundance and grace.

A man who cares deeply for the plight of others, for the earth and for future generations - but not at the expense of his family. Men with kids are sexy ;) Dad's who are engaged with their kid(s) are the best.

Someone who brings the spiritual into every day life. (ie: taking a deep breath in traffic and smiling at the person in the car in the next lane.)

Someone who is solvent, has their ducks lined up, and is not in a state of anxiety about the basics...but, who also acknowledges their privilege and shares their good fortune when compelled, without reservation. The ability to travel, eat organic, and be generous is a wonderful thing.

Someone who knows they don't know everything, but has learned a few good things along the way, and knows that wisdom is sometimes knowing you don't really know.

They say there are 5 ways people show and receive love. 1. Physical affection 2. Verbal affection 3. Gifts 4. Doing things for the other 5. Spending quality time. All of the above sounds good to me...but, I don't need all of it in spades, all the time. Just a nice sprinkle throughout the week - even if we have busy, independent lives.
