What I’m doing with my life
"It is the contents of our days, after all, that make up the
contents of our lives."
I start most of my days off with biking or hiking around the hills
near to where I live. Cold Springs is a favorite trail, but lately
I've been favoring cycling. If I'm lucky, it is also a painting day
and I'll spend a few hours working on a bird painting. I'm drawn to
the birds that I see most often in my daily life-- not far-flung
exotics. I love crows for their intelligence and black glossy
beauty and hummingbirds for their delicacy and acrobatics. I garden
in a sort of chaotic manner with a strong preference for growing
things that can be eaten later on. I'm happy getting lost in a good
book. Just started A Home at the End of the World. I loved the
movie when I saw it a few years ago and the book promises to be as
good if not better. With friends I enjoy kayaking, eating good
food, camping, and occasional adventures in L.A. for shows or
whatnot.
Perhaps you've surmised from the above that I am much more
interested in the present than far-flung goals?

I'm a long habituated vegetarian (actually more of a pescatarian,
but that is a hideous sounding word, isn't it?) with a lot of
admiration for those who try to embody locavore and slow food
ideals. I love to cook and eat. Favorites include: pizza, anything
with a ton of cheese, "junk-food" sushi, spicy, mexican, italian,

I tend to think myself in circles. I prefer to experience and feel

Those people you catch picking their noses while driving on the
