My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hate ice breakers. You know those things your professors made you do on the first day of classes?

This feels like that.

I play songs on the the ukulele pretty all right. I have a pretty cool art project going and I'm looking to start my podcast back up.

Also, I think it's funny that they let me choose curvy, so I had no choice but to use it to describe myself. If they had "A bearded teddy bear of a man" I'd have gone with that.

On top of all that, I just moved into my very own new house.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a preschool teacher. But when not working, I'm either playing ukulele, or adventuring.

A couple summers ago, I went on a 9 day vacation through Colorado by myself. I didn't know anyone there, or have any set plans. I just ate at the best restaurants, camped in the woods, and played ukulele in the mountains. I turned the whole thing into a travel documentary. Changed my life.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Chuck Klosterman is probably my favorite author right now. I beg you to read The Visible Man. I tend to read a lot of non-fiction. Recently I read The Last Policeman series. They changed me somehow. Just amazing amazing books. I even ended up getting a tattoo about them. Also, I, a grown, bearded, straight male, unabashedly and unashamedly bawled my eyes out the whole way through The Fault In Our Stars. I also really really dig Calvin and Hobbes (who doesn't).

Movies: I love everything Wes Anderson and Pixar - and I'm a big fan of documentaries. Ghostbusters is my favorite movie. I really dig Sam Rockwell. I prefer Life Aquatic to Tenenbaums - deal with it. I like movies about the apocalypse and robots - hopefully a mix of the two. I dig musicals, 80's action movies, zombie movies, and movies with subtitles.

Shows: Fringe is probably my favorite show of all time? Probably?

Music: Everclear, CAKE, Jukebox the Ghost, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens, Boston, The Postal Service, Regina Spektor, Clem Snide, Ingrid Michaelson, Harry Chapin, Rush, Pomplamoose, REO Speedwagon, Daft Punk. Anywhere from singer/songwriter stuff, to ska, to adult contemporary, to acoustic indie stuff, to power ballads - all over the place.

Food: Breakfast food, sushi, blueberries, Fresca, broccoli and cheese, hot wings, baked macaroni and cheese, Ben & Jerry's, anything novelty (eg.: Limited Edition, New Flavor, etc.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
1. Music that gives me goosebumps
2. Movies that make me feel something
3. Food that makes me hate myself afterward
4. A ukulele
5. Talking
6. An apocalypse survival plan
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the world around me. I'm constantly fascinated with the things I can learn. One of the most important things in my life is the "Stuff You Should Know" podcast. I love learning about everything I can. Like I said up in the movie section, I love documentaries. That's basically the real reason I'm still paying for Netflix. This is the only life we get and I want to know as much as I can about what's around me.

The world is just awesome.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I find myself busy almost every night of the week, and my weekends are usually pretty full. But Friday nights? Friday nights I always keep open just to have one night to myself. Myself, Netflix or Steam, and maybe a vodka drink. Friday nights are my relaxation oasis.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I listened to a lot of Loveline back in the day. I haven't since Adam Carolla left, but that's besides the point. I think a lot of my knowledge and information about relationships and human interaction has been really influenced by both Drew and Adam. After hearing so many of the same situations, they (and vicariously I) learned patterns of behavior and why people act the way they do.

You know, I really love having a good conversation. If we've got something in common, or you like having a good conversation too, I'm your guy.

Also, if you've got something to say besides "Love the beard." Don't get me wrong, I love the attention. But my eyes are up here ladies. I'm not just a piece of bearded meat.

Oh, and you should probably be prepared to answer the question, "What would your death row meal be?"
