My self-summary
I'm curious, enthusiastic, ironic, vulnerable, naive, empathetic.

I'm honest and self-disclosing. I have a fair picture of my good and bad points. (I wrote that a while back, and now I'm no longer sure. Is that a sign of wisdom?) I'm quite willing to admit it when I'm wrong. (Still true.)

I work at being accepting of other people. Acceptance is important to me. I hate being judged myself, so I try not to judge others. It's a challenge, isn't it?

I'm curious about the world and everything around me. I love to learn new things, and I like telling others about them. I'm also a spiritual person. I attend an Episcopal church. I'm also interested in Buddhism, but I don't practice.

I work with computers. It's what I've wanted to do since I was 12 years old. (And that was back in 1972, when there were few computers around.) So you could call me a geek - but not completely, because I think I have better social skills that most geeks. (At least I hope I do!)

I like writing. Balancing my geek side, I have an artistic and visual side. I enjoy photography

Let's see .. INFJ, HSP if you know what that is, and I think I'm a 4 on the enneagram scale.

I am always learning, amusing, and intelligent

What I’m doing with my life
I'm growing. I like and understand myself a whole lot better than I did five years ago, or even a year ago. I'm trying to learn be attentive to the present, and not hung up on the past or waiting for the future. My ability to do that waxes and wanes.

My middle child just left for college, and my youngest moved to Maryland with her mom, so learning what not having kids around is like.

I’m really good at
Computers - especially in helping friends with their problems, photography, listening to friends and being empathetic, writing (but not stories), reading out loud (stories, poems, etc - friends tell me I have a good voice.), public speaking/giving talks - similar to the last thing, I guess.

The first things people usually notice about me
It depends where you meet me. One on one, I'm pretty open; in a group I can be a bit shy if I don't know the people (I get less shy as I get more comfortable. This can be surprising to people who have pigeon-holed me.) As people get to know me, they notice my sense of humor. People also notice that I'm intelligent. (The clever ones do, at least.)

The six things I could never do without
In no particular order ...

1) computers and the internet (big surprise...) 2) my sense of humor. It keeps me sane. (If you can call this sane.) 3) cats. I have a big white Ragdoll named Mitzi. Mitzi is good company except for late at night when she likes to lick and sometimes bite me. No licky-licky-bite-bite! 4) Music of different forms at different times. Hard to pin down; depends on my mood 5) books 6) Close friendships

I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I want to become; where I'm going. Also in flux. Trying not to get tripped up by weaknesses and issues I'm just starting to recognize.

On a typical Friday night I am
Well, this is Friday night, and I'm here typing at my computer. That's pretty typical.

I love movies, but it's not much fun to go to the movies alone - so Netflix is my good friend.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am willing to share almost anything about myself with people I trust. That decision to trust is pretty instinctive.
