I am clumsy, classy, and cuddly.

My Self-Summary

Hello. My name is Eva. I'm a recent graduate of UCSB with a degree in zoology. I just moved to Portland in September. My sister told me most people who move to Portland are "a little broken", and although that's a bit dramatic, I'd have to say that's true for me. But who isn't, am I right? Portland is beautiful in so many ways and so far I'm loving it.

What I’m doing with my life

Just trying to figure out who I am and what I want. You know, normal early-20's type stuff. Although some people my age seem to have it figured out much better than I do, well, we all know they're faking it.

I’m really good at

A lot of people tend to see me as the one to tell all their troubles to, so I guess I'm a good listener. Probably because I don't judge. (At least out loud.)

The first things people usually notice about me

Dunno. I'm pretty quiet until people get to know me, maybe that's it. People sometimes probably think I'm a bitch when they first meet me because I don't talk much, and I make really awkward first impressions. I have a nose stud that tends to catch the eye. I've also had some grey streaks in my hair since I was fourteen that people tend to comment on, but it's currently dyed.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(A)Books: Recently I've really gotten into Margaret Atwood. Other all-time favorites: all the Stephen King books I've read, The Alienist, Alice in Wonderland, The Bell Jar, Flowers for Algernon

(B)Movies: My favorite genre is horror, especially really campy ones and ones involving zombies, but I will watch pretty much anything once. Current favorites include:Little Shop of Horrors (hence the screen name), the original Dawn of the Dead and the rest of the George Romero films (although I haven't seen Diary yet so I can't make a judgement on that one), Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Dead Alive, Basketcase, The Brood, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Re-Animator, An American Werewolf in London, City of Lost Children, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rushmore, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Princess Bride, Let The Right One In, Phantom of the Paradise...I'm going to stop here before this list gets really long.

(C)Music: It varies a lot. Most of the music I own falls into the indie/indie-ish rock category, especially female-oriented music. But I could just as easily be listening to something random like showtunes, opera, African tribal music, 50's bubblegum pop, whatever...just depends on my mood. Honestly I could really care less if other people have the same music taste as I do. It was important when I was 15, but it doesn't seem so important now.

(D) Greek chicken salad with lots of kalamata olives and feta cheese. And waffles with nutella and strawberries. MMM.

(E)TV: The L Word (I <3 Alice), Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock, Desperate Housewives, Lost (used to be an avid watcher, have lost track but someday I will pick it up again), Joss Whedon stuff, True Blood

The six things I could never do without

Family. Good friends. Stimulating conversation. Interaction with animals/nature. Chocolate. Movies.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Everything. I think way too much for my own good.

On a typical Friday night I am

Watching really bad or really good movies. Sometimes going out to a club with friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am mysteeerious, i.e. you're getting nothing from me until you ask.

You should message me if

-you are in the Portland area and could use another friend to go to concerts/ go hiking/ drink a good beer with
-you are in the Portland area and need someone to take care of your pet
-you need someone to watch a really crappy movie with because the rest of your friends stopped trusting you after you made them watch Basketcase/ Plan 9 From Outer Space/ Hell Comes to Frogtown
-you want to discuss feminism/ riot grrl/ how hot Corin Tucker is

If you're over 30 and you're looking for anything more than online (non-sexual) conversation, please don't bother.
