I'm married and polyamorous. At this point in my life, between work at a software company that is its own verb, family and community involvement, I find time is a limited resource. I'm not really here.
What I’m doing with my life
Working more than I should, and trying to live up to the resolution
to spend some time and energy on myself.
I work as a software engineer, so I spend most of my time solving
complex problems and saving the world. Well, the part of it
connected to the internet at any rate.
I’m really good at
World-building, solving complex technical problems and hypnotic
The first things people usually notice about me
Lately it's been "...you're taller than I expected."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've always been an avid reader, but after writing several novels,
I've burned myself out on Science Fiction and Fantasy. It's taken
several months to get to the point where I can read fiction again.
When fiction and I are on better terms I will probably edit this to
include real, legitimate titles.
I have a deep and unrequited lust for Thai food.
The six things I could never do without
Eschewing the obvious, and In no particular order:
- A healthy dose of mad science (which is really mad engineering,
but who's counting?)
- Laughing so hard muscles in my face hurt
- Live performances
- Very spicy food
- Puzzles (in the general sense, not the jigsaw sense.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Writing, including plot, characterization, setting, theme,
description, word choice... I often think about writing while I'm
reading, although I find that the books I'd most like to learn from
are the ones that catch me up in the words or the story so it's
hard to pay attention enough to learn.
Software engineering, what with that being my job and all.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I want to make my own transcranial magnetic stimulation rig so I
can create temporary lesions in my brain to simulate a savant
experience. I can't quite understand why more people *don't* want
to do this.
You should message me if

to you, and you think discussing the nascent intelligence of cities
sounds like a fun first date conversation.
but that isn't enough of a reason to message me -
though if it is a reason not to message me, I'm glad I mentioned
it. I'm nerdy and geeky in all the best ways, if you are as well
we'll probably enjoy each other's company.
