My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a cross between Hermione Granger, Liz Lemon and Kathleen Hanna...except taller.

If I star you that is me making the first move.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just finished my PhD in Rhetoric (don't worry, nobody knew that was a degree). I teach at UGA, do yoga, play the piano, watch TV and fantasize about traveling.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Weeellllllll I wouldn't say "really good at" but I am not terrible at: board games, sailing, volleyball, cooking, writing, karaoke, dancing, things related to problem-solving, conversing and generally being smart. And over-thinking. I am awesome at over-thinking

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Food: I love food. I especially love Ice Cream, dark chocolate, root vegetables, mashed potatoes, French fries, tea, Swiss chard, yogurt, rice and real butter.

Books/Authors: Imajica (I love Clive Barker), Good Omens (Neil Gaiman generally), Harry Potter, A Brave New World, A Handmaiden's Tale, Griffin & Sabine Series, Jailbird (really all Vonnegut), Franny & Zooey (really all Salinger), Stranger in a Strange Land (most Heinlein actually), Neverwhere (more Gaiman), Confederacy of Dunces, Catcher in the Rye (more Salinger), Mists of Avalon (Arthurian genre is overall a favorite), Menace from Earth (more Heinlein), Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Till We Have Faces (C.S. Lewis generally), Redwall Series, Summer Tree series (I'm into Series), The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankwheiler, On Chesil Beach, Atonement, Sweet Tooth (all Ian McKewan). Poetry: Sappho, Dorothy Parker, Shakespeare, Charles Bukowski, Margaret Atwood. Philosophy and literary criticism: Jacques Derrida, Paul de man, Ernesto Laclau and Kenneth Burke.

Movies: Empire Records, Brain Donors, Trainspotting, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Labyrinth, Newsies, Harold & Maude, Velvet Goldmine, Secretary, all the Die Hards, Heathers, Sunset Boulevard, It Happened One Night, Valley Girl, Streetcar Named Desire, Princess Bride, Peter Pan (the old Disney one), super awful campy horror movies like Vamp and Frankenhooker, Say Anything, You Can't Take it With You, Adventures in Babysitting, Barfly, Mannequin 1 & 2, Pump up the Volume, Gleaming the Cube, Battle Royale, the Room. I liked Inherent Vice...I don't know if I understood it though. Oh, and all the Fast and Furious except Tokyo Drift. I try to stay away from psychological-girl-in-dungeon terror thrillers.

TV: Too many. I love old shit like I Love Lucy and Welcome Back Kotter and British TV like Peep Show, the original The Office, and Misfits. I am undecided about the ending to Lost. I love Venture Brothers. I can't get into Game of Thrones because its too rapey. It makes me feel like crying. Right now I'm rationing the last of Parks and Rec and finishing up True Blood.

Music: Love music. Not into: music snobbery, Nikki Menage, those Creed/Sevendust/Nickel back type bands. I understand why people like Dave Matthews but I do not.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
other than basic necessities and human contact I can pretty much live without everything I own, this doesn't stop me from owning it, unfortunately
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
starting a band, spending money i don't have, getting more tattoos I can't afford, whether my cats are accidentally going to smother each other with affection
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
home wishing i was out or out wishing i was home
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hate watching sports
I'm bad with feelings
I have no filter
I might be a serial monogamist
I don't always brush my teeth before bed
I'm late for things because I take naps that are too long but I blame it on traffic
Does saying "I was just teasing!" make it okay? I sure hope so...
I think foreign films are bor.ing. ...does that make me a bad hipster?
I spend a lot of time thinking about whether I'm a hipster
Why higher education works
If I've gotten more superficial as I've gotten smarter does that mean I've actually gotten LESS smart?

you are decent but not too earnest, self aware but not egomaniacal, and kind of freaky but shy about it. You ain't comin out tha cut tryna wife me but you ain't 'posed to it needer.

Also it says I'm looking for "straight dudes" but I'm totally down with dudes who are bi pansexual or heterocurious or homoflexible or however you identify. This homophobic site just wants to put everyone in a category.
