My self-summary Propose an edit
Tall dark and scary. Also terminally sarcastic, fond of long
intellectually masturbatory arguments, a recovering goth and a
romantic in denial.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I'm a computer security consultant, so basically I get paid to lose
my faith in humanity. At the moment I'm hiding and recuperating
after a month of epically bad luck. I'm doing a lot of reading
while draped in cats and reflecting that human interaction is for
suckers. When not in recluse mode I try to seek out more adventure
than is strictly good for me.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Accruing hordes of inexplicable and highly specialized little
talents; also squandering my creative potential for material gain.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I have no idea, feel free to let me know.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Meat, especially bloody and/or raw. I love sushi, steak, more
general seafood... anything that suffered to arrive at my plate.
For maximum points, something still living when it hits the
table.
I'm an avid reader, currently in the midst of the A Song of Ice and
Fire series, a rather cheesy fantasy set that was recommended by a
friend who insists it will improve. Favorites in fiction are the
usual crop of cyberpunk standbys, Gibson especially. I love an
author who understands you don't need to look to the future for a
brilliant dystopian story.
Music is difficult for me, I've got relatively narrow taste running
high to crappy electro-industrial dance. Not Icon of Coil bad, but
certainly Covenant ("Happy Man" is my current theme song), old VNV,
Seabound, new NIN and Skinny Puppy, etc. In my quest to hear things
I haven't heard a mind-boggling number of times before I've been
known to branch out as far as The Killers or The Knife; gothier
favorites like Dresden Dolls creep in on the periphery too.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Computers, meat, sex, cats and love. I know that's not 6, but what
can I say? I'm a minimalist.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Life, the universe, and everything. A shorter list would be the
things I *don't* spend a lot of time thinking about (celebrities,
whether I look fat, television).
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
It varies; sometimes on a plane, other times in a bar/club with
friends, preferably one then the other. My favorite place to be on
a Friday night is anywhere I couldn't predict I'd end up.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'm willing to admit anything, consequently nothing springs to mind
as "private".
You should message me if Propose an edit
1. If your interest is platonic:
You know what you want out of life and you're good at making it
happen.
You love to debate but you care more about learning than
winning.
Drop me a line if you're both of the above and you'd like to be
clever at one another over coffee sometime.
2. If your interest is romantic, ideally, I would like you to be
this person:
First and foremost, you want something serious and are open to the
possibilities of both marriage and children in the 5-10 year range.
You also need to have wanderlust in general and be interested in
moving to NYC in particular - that's where I'm on to next and it
would be a shame to start something good that isn't portable. You
also need to be bisexual, though I'd consider making an exception
for a gay female. I prefer polyamory but I'd consider monogamy if
by some vanishingly small chance your sex drive can keep up with
mine.
On the less important things I'm a shameless narcissist. The more
you resemble me aesthetically (tall, pale, blue-eyed and
dark-haired) the more likely it is that I'll find you attractive.
Similarly, on personality I melt over people who are strong-willed,
adventurous and geeky. Other turnons are curiosity/joy in the small
things and moral ambiguity (neutral nuetral, anyone?).
If you've read this far and you aren't scared off yet you should
definitely contact me.
3. Due to recent roster hits I will now also consider something
casual, for which you could be anything from the attributes in 1 on
up. Expect, of course, that you'll need to be superficially
attractive in inverse proportion to your resemblance to the
description in 2.
