I am loyal, determined, and kind.
My Self-Summary
i'm hard working, i think anything good in this life comes through
hard work. to balance that out, though, i love
biking and being outside in general.
it doesn't take much for me to have a good time. i enjoy other
people's company more than the activity.
and here's a list of some other facts about me:
-i play guitar
-i'm originally from charleston, sc- where i lived until i was 11.
that's where all of my family is from too. i visit about once a
year...
-i lived in israel from '03-'05- i visit israel about once/yr as
well.
-i love the smell of honeysuckles
-i love my family... i'm very close to my parents and my sister and
i would do anything for them. i'm very protective.
-i have 2 beautiful nieces (as you can see, sorta, from the
picture)
-i want a family of my own some day. and if i don't find the person
i choose to spend my life with by the time i'm 30... depending on
where i'm at with school (i do plan on getting my masters), then
i'm going to have a baby on my own.
-touch is so important to me, i can't be with someone who doesn't
like to cuddle and be close.
-sarah silverman cracks me up.
-it takes me a little while to warm up to people, and trust people,
but it's worth it in the end, because once you have my love, you'll
always have it.
-routine is very important to me, i need routine to survive... but
as much as i need routine and schedules... i also need breaks and
vacations...
What I’m doing with my life
I graduate nursing school dec. '09. I'm also a volunteer EMT at my
local rescue squad and i work in the nursing skills lab at school.
I’m really good at
being there for my friends; staying organized; i don't know, this
is a hard question... i think i'm good at anything i put my mind
to.. i guess other specifics can include:
school and work
listening- people open up to me quite a bit and they say i'm easy
to talk to... probably because i know how to shut up and listen
because i care.
being sarcastic and a smart ass
making a bed really comfy
saying things in very few words.
teaching students in the lab and making sure they walk away
understanding what i've taught.
being proactive in certain situations when really all i'm feeling
is a crap load of anxiety that makes me want to run away and curl
into a ball... this is something i'm becoming really good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
My friend just told me that that when she first met me, i struck
her as someone who saw through other people.
i recently wondered what people notice about me when they see me...
whether it's my smile... my eyes... my very short hair, my body...
but then i realized that pretty much everyone looks past a lot of
these physical aspects because i think i'm a very kind person and
it's evident almost immediately.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books- Anything by Jeanette Winterson, Paulo Coelho, Michelle Tea,
Sarah Waters... and more.
Movies- across the universe, grandmas boy, team america, anchorman,
sarah silverman's jesus is magic, high art, thelma and louise, a
league of their own, foxfire, trainspotting, the english patient,
cider house rules, legends of the fall, benny and joon, little miss
sunshine, g.i. jane, wild hearts can't be broken, brokeback
mountain, personal best, donnie darko, million dollar baby, star
wars, blades of glory, sicko. waking life
TV- dexter, nurse jackie, it's always sunny, curb, flight of the
conchords, the golden girls, and the sarah silverman program.
Music- Brandi Carlile, Kaki King, The Beatles, John Lennon, Imogen
Heap, Missy Higgins, Ratatat, Explosions in the Sky, Michael
Hedges..... and so on and so on.
Food- vietnamese, thai, sushi, and nothing beats a home cooked,
healthy meal. interesting food facts about me- i don't like icing
on cake... and i'm not a huge icecream or chocolate eater, although
sometimes i enjoy it.
The six things I could never do without
i just don't know how to answer this question... probably family,
music, friends, a job, a means for transportation- bike or car, and
food. pretty much things that are low on maslow's hierarchy of
needs...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
time and reality. and making right choices. also my career and my
future in it. i think a lot... about a lot of things... and i think
i think too much actually.
On a typical Friday night I am
at a friend's with good wine and good conversation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
hmm... i'm scared. i don't have specific phobias. just scared... of
life. and i think this is a feeling that a lot of people share.
You should message me if
you feel like messaging me...
it's a plus if you're a jew...
