I am adventurous, ambitious, and inquisitive.
My Self-Summary
I'm figuring out life right now. I just retired as a full-time ski
racer and I'm going back to school at
Carleton in the fall. Right now I'm
majoring in
psychology, but I'm looking at taking
up a minor in something that will hopefully give me more usable
skills. Possibly Linguistics or Communications. I know I love to
learn, and that's what I want to focus on right now: expanding my
horizons.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm exploring! I just closed one huge chapter of my life, and I'm
looking forward to opening a bunch of new ones. The world is once
again my oyster, and I want to enjoy as much of it as I can.
I’m really good at
learning, and being compassionate. I enjoy taking on new
challenges, and I tend to be good at lending an ear.
The first things people usually notice about me
The red hair. Strawberry blonde.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My taste in books is random and varied, but my secret pleasure is a
light read like Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovitch. Right now I
am reading Choke by Chuck Palahniuk, but I enjoy a variety of
authors.
Movies: Fight Club, Garden State, Wayne's World, Thomas Crown
Affair, Pan's Labyrinth, Say Anything, and I'll watch August rush
over and over again. Phantom of the Opera is also wonderful.
As for music, I'm definitely a rock girl at heart, but I enjoy
parts of other genres as well. Currently, I just re-loaded my iPod
with a whole pile of old randoms. An all time favorite is the Goo
Goo Dolls.
Food: carbohydrates in every form. Love pasta and cheese. Also,
everything goes well with a good bottle of wine. Side note: I'm
trying to eat more veggies... but it's hard.
The six things I could never do without
Aside from the given: air, food, water...
Skiing - in some form or another - it's made me who I am and I love
the thrill.
Music - an iPod is essential, and I'm rediscovering my love of
playing the
piano.
Literature - to expand my brain, and to enjoy a good light
read.
People I love, friends and family. As independent as I am, I love
having people around to share my day with.
Nature - because it has so much energy and life in it. I love
reading a book on the dock and swimming in the lake.
Communication tools - cell phone and internet!! As much as I love
the solitude of nature, I like to be connected.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Literally. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my
life, and there's too many possibilities it's overwhelming.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the lake or out with friends.
You should message me if
You're an open-minded person who is interested in getting to know
