My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello, ladies, my name is Addison. I have my own car and my own place. I make good money at a job that I love. I love going fishing and shooting with my friends, but don't let that fool you, I'm no right-wing conservative or any mess like that. Not that there's anything wrong with being one, it's just not my political dig. I love to read, especially the work of Christopher Hitchens. I don't drink, I don't do drugs, but I do smoke; I could rationalize it any which way you want, but honestly it's not something I like doing and I've been trying to cut back.

I find myself looking for someone who is willing to go out and have fun, I'm a more traditional date (dinner and a movie, or the zoo or something) and I thirst for interesting conversation. Let's talk about religion, politics, anything, I just like talking to people, hearing their stories and giving mine. I'm also looking for someone who likes being a nerd, as I am a nerd by trade and I don't really do the party scene or anything like that. If you like singing in the car, reading books together, watching lectures, things like that, then drop me a line on here and let's see what happens.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Graduated from ASU with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, now just loving the life the hard work has given me. Spend my time with those left after the great friend-culling that invariably happens after graduation. Constantly get up the motivation to record music again/come up with some new songs, and not just constantly practicing the Metallica and Opeth I so love to play.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. My job. Playing my guitar. Shooting. Reading very fast.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is either my height, my eyes or my hair, but only if these 'people' are just eyeballin' me from afar, slavering like starving dogs. The person who takes the time to approach and engage this particular man will find that I am a very dedicated, intelligent individual who loves helping people and, once a friend, will do pretty much anything to help make your life easier. You'll find I believe strongly in people helping people, but within the microcosmic scope of my intimate friend group (because, come on, there's only so much I can do). I love seeing other people succeed, and while I believe in having dreams, I'm also a staunch realist. Remember, even after missing the moon and landing amongst the stars, you're either going to suffocate or land on the Predator homeworld.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Shantaram, Malazan Series, any Glen Cook novel. The work of Christopher Hitchens. I also have a book of essays from David Hume that's proving to be a great read.

Body of Lies, Saving Private Ryan, I haven't watched many movies in the last couple of years lol.

Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Generation Kill, Big Bang Theory, Californication. There's more but I generally just blow through shows quickly and then look for the next thing. Iron Chef for sure, though.

On a big Smiths kick right now.
Big fan of prog rock, especially music of the type coming from foreign countries. Ayreon, the project of Dutch composer Arjen Lucassen, has been a great influence on me. Aside from that, the list goes on to include: The Chamber Band, Yeasayer, Storm Corrosion, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Opeth, Dave Matthews, Elton John, Bedrich Smetana, The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, Steven Wilson, Sufjan Stevens, We Are Scientists, Mad Season, Gotye, DeVotchKa, Boston, and of course, my own music (only when I'm feeling both narcissistic and self-critical). If there's one area where I generally refuse to try new things, it's music; not because I think the bands I like are superior, blah blah blah, I'm just rather critical about guitar work. It's hard to please me if you don't have some Phrygian in there, I love me some Phrygian.

I'm not very picky with food, I can find something to eat from every nationality's culinary excursions, but those that have the greatest breadth of dishes that I like are Italian and German, with authentic Chinese running a very close third. As far as individual dishes are concerned, any meatless pasta dish or noodle dish in general I find delicious, as well as Asian rice-based fare like sushi. I'm not really a vegetarian per se, and as such haven't put that as my "how I eat" thing on the side box up there, but I generally eat vegetarian because it's cheaper and I don't really like anything but crustaceans and steak anyways, and then not very often. I will say that I'm not generally a fruit guy, I take it case-by-case. And I HATE bell peppers, I can't stand them.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My computer,
The internet and all of its magic,
My guitar,
My friends,
My education,
and my desire to learn
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The next 7 or so years of my life, and who I'm going to be spending them with. What song to learn (or write) next. How bad I am at lyric writing, incongruous to my other musical talents.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately, I find myself alone, as all of my friends are paired up with wonderful women whom they spend a majority of their time. Thus, I'm flexible.

Sundays are more of my ritual hang-out day, my friends and I watch Football, hang out and play some vidya games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The ending to A.I. Artificial Intelligence is probably the saddest thing I've ever seen. It gave me nightmares as a child.

You're not going to start a conversation and leave after three question-response cycles, or because I worded something oddly. It's the Internet, and while many people take that as an excuse to mean the thing you read must be read in the most negative tone possible, that's not my dig; if you think I was insulting you or something, at least give me the chance to clarify before you never talk to me again. Thanks.

You think you'd enjoy talking to an eccentric and witty individual. If you want a guy who knows what he wants in life, and knows how to get it. If you want someone who will be very loyal, who holds real value in the connection between a man and a woman in a relationship. If you have chronic computer problems, or are technologically less-than-capable (trust me, a month at my side and an open mind and you'll be using that magical rectangular prism like a pro in no time). If you want someone who's financially independent and responsible. If you think we'd be attracted to each other. If you want an intelligent man (which I know you do, because I probably read your profile, and that seems to be one of the qualities that all women seek, though so few seem to act on that quality).
