I am relaxed, mischevious, and a tad bit sarcastic.

My Self-Summary

I moved to Greenville about a two years ago, originally only for the summer, but a change of plans ended with me studying nursing at Pitt. I want to become a registered nurse and work around North Carolina for a few years, then, I don't know. Maybe back to school for a masters, maybe travel nursing. Right now I'm just taking it day to day and trying to savor what I have.

I like music, and I usually get into a handful of bands at a time. I listen to a pretty wide variety, or at least I think I do, and I'm always open to new suggestions. I play guitar and sing, unfortunately not in a band at the moment, but I'm looking. I'll mess around with pretty much anything you can play with a solo acoustic, as long as it's not, ya know, hard. Expect to be serenaded :p.

I do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to stay fit and work through whatever has me stressed. Fight sports are pretty much the only ones I practice or pay any attention at all to, and it's still pretty rare for me to sit down and watch more than a few matches at a time. I'd like to get (and win) a fight in MMA before I leave college, just as a challenge to myself.

What I’m doing with my life

Studying to get my license as a Registered Nurse and trying to get enough money together to pay for rent, utilities, and beer. Or at least two out of three. Playing too many video games when I'm bored. Working out when I'm not too lazy.

I’m really good at

I'm a pretty good singer. Not professional, but I love to kick some karaoke ass. I won Pack Idol at State last year, which was sort of weird and awesome at the same time.

I like to think I'm good with computers, but I'm really just good at screwing with things till they work.

One day I'll be good at Jiu-jitsu, right now I suck.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm either really shy or a I won't shut up. I have a giant head that blots out the sun and destroys the livelihood of farmers. I talk about my flaws to much?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Catch-22, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, To Kill a Mockingbird, Goodbye Blue Monday, Heat, good comics and manga like The Sandman, anything Terry Pratchett ever wrote, The Hitch Hikers Guide Series, and sci-fi anthologies.

Movies: The Departed, Monty Pythons Search for the Holy Grail, The Big Lebowski, The Professional, Ronin, Ong-Bok, Everafter, Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise, Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle. That's a decent cross section. I really don't watch that many movies. I have trouble sitting still unless it's engrossing.

Music: Too many to list. Alt Rock and Indie, especially 90's and early 2000 stuff like Nirvana, Third Eye Blind, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Brand New. Modest Mouse just might be my favorite band, The Decemberists are amazing and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are just as awesome live as you'd expect them to be. I'm just now getting into more indie sort of stuff, working my way through the likes of Wilco's catalog, Belle and Sebastian, Iron and Wine, and the Arcade Fire. More than anything though, music has to sound good. Bruce Springsteen is who I aspire to write like. Not necessarily sound like, but write like.

Food: I've turned into a little bit of a foodie since I started living on my own, and I'm turning into a beer snob since I turned 21. When I feel like doing the dishes, a love to experiment with new recipes. I've got growing cook book selection, so there's always something to try out. The latest experiments have been bread baking, and those are going slowly. In Greenville I love aTavolla and a El Azador best of all, with B's and Cookout for my greasy fix. Thai Kitchen is on my list now too.

The six things I could never do without

My laptop, my guitar, my gi, my speakers, my poetry/lyrics notebook, my pencil

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Chord changes, good lyrics, fixing my kicking form, working out, improving my grades without sacrificing my fun.

On a typical Friday night I am

Training, or just relaxing from the week with a cold beer and some friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like the occasional chick flick, as long as they're clever and well plotted. Everafter is one of my favorite movies, and You've Got Mail is awesome as well.

You should message me if

You want to hang out, eat some pizza, see a movie, and hit a karaoke bar. Now I've just got to find a karaoke bar I can get in.

I actually prefer IM to messaging, the first one is always so awkward. Hit me at Viator222 on AIM if you just want to chat about whatever is on your mind.
