__"Sure," he replies sleepily, rolling onto my leg. After a yawn, he says, "Let's talk and we'll figure out what's important to include about you."
__"Thanks, George! I knew you'd be helpful." I wait patiently for George to gather his thoughts. He licks his chops.
__"OK, so to start, what's your favorite thing to eat?"
__I frown. "George, I don't know if that should come first. Can we start with personality, or maybe hobbies, or work?"
__"Um... sure, if you think that's more important." He looks a little confused. "I just thought, I mean, you gotta start somewhere, so you might as well start with food."
__I look at George, wondering if I should have asked someone else to help me with the profile.
__"Hey," he says, "If you want a different question, then here: What do you like to do for fun?"
__"Good question! I love to play music. I love to cook socially. I love playing games with groups of friends, like Pictionary Telephone or Salad Bowl. Um, let's see, I really enjoy working on musical theater productions."
__George paws my shirt. "Arf, arf! Ahem. Yes, you should definitely include that bit about theater. Acting is cool."
__"Yeah, this summer I directed a musical called 'Shiprock and Anchordog and the Monster Problem'. It involved 20 kids, aged 4-9. My band provided the music for the show."
__"That will go great on the profile. And you could share the music video you made with those kids, too. Just put one of those linker things up there."
__"Oh," George says, "And you should put, 'I'll take care of your young.'" He notices my confused look. "Because, you know, you're good with human children," he adds.
__I laugh. Then I realize he's serious. "Um, I don't know, George. That might come off a little weird. No offense, I'm trying to have a normal profile."
