My self-summary
I used to have a lengthy rant here of all the random things that crossed my mind but decided it's time to change it up a bit. Here it is December '12... where to begin...

My profile name: Axe=Guitar. I'm a big fan. Had I read the instructions on this line a little better when I created this profile, I would have probably chosen one that doesn't sound like I'm an ax murderer...

The basics (based on common comments I've seen on your profiles):
- I'm a Kansas native born and raised so, no, I'm definitely not a "typical LA guy."
- I own a car. It has a radio and air conditioning. No, it's not a Hummer.
- Gainfully employed (7 years next month with the company) and neither in the entertainment industry nor am I an actor or musician (by trade).
- There are no pics of me flexing in the mirror shirtless (re: body type).
- I own no Ed Hardy clothing and won't.
- I try and take care of myself ie gym 5 nights a week (re: body type) but it's far from an obsession, rather a necessary evil due to getting older and having an office job.
- While I didn't pay much attention in english class growing up, I know the difference between their/there/they're and your/you're.
- I'm respectful of restaurant staff.
- Chivalry is not dead.
- Your dog is adorable.

What I'm looking for:
- I know I'm asking a lot, but please be at least moderately sane.
- A gym-goer or some other health-concious adjective. I'll appreciate the support!
- If you're a vegan or vegetarian I'll accept it as long as you accept that I won't be. Ever. (re: Kansas-boy)
What I’m doing with my life
Stupidity should be painful, if not illegal. I'm devoting my life's work to the cause.

Seriously though, I handle visual merchandising for a large retailer of music equipment. It's a blessing and a curse to have a job that embodies so many of your hobbies! It's great to have a job you love doing, but because so many aspects are also hobbies, it opens up the situations of working too much. I suppose a beautiful distraction is in order, don't you think?

I'm also looking at going back to school soon for some type of computer science degree. I have yet to determine the exact direction I should take though because there are just too many subjects I want to learn.
I’m really good at
I'm going to change this to, "What I've been TOLD I'm good at since I THINK I'm good at everything (joke!):

-grilling
-massages
-listening
-guitar (I beg to differ)
-understanding my significant other (sometimes better than themselves)
-I have a face, er, voice for radio hahaha
-apparently, being able to fix things like my car and computer as well as handy work around the house make me a manly man. I thought it was just part of being a guy... my question then is why are there so many pussy dudes out there? What, you spent more time with your mom learning how to apply eyeliner instead of changing a tire with your dad???
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know.

Picture this conversation:
me: Hi, I'm Vince.
them: "Hi, I'm (your name here)"
me: Quick. What's the first thing you noticed about me?

weird, right?

I guess it's that I'm easily approachable and "knows no stranger." Physically it's probably my eyes. I used to get asked all the time if I wore contacts since they are so dark. Of course, a lot of these were coming at the time that Limp Bizkit was a popular band and I still looked quite similar to their guitar player... yeah, that was a few pounds, er, years ago.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read more for knowledge than entertainment. Subjects on things for work, music, etc.

Movies: Action/Suspense/Comedies. Dark Knight, Office Space, Usual Suspects, Transformers, Iron Man, Big Lebowski, Kevin Smith films, Tarantino films. (Seeing Pulp Fiction in the movie theater last week was such a cool experience!)

Shows: I've always wondered this... how is it that every time they run a marathon of any cop show (CSI, Law & Order, Criminal Minds, etc) I end up in some vortex of time where I blink and it's the next day?

Music: It's such an ever-growing list so let me try this:
best concerts: ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Metallica, White Zombie, Pantera, Doobie Brothers, Brooks and Dunn
a few bands I'm still really wanting to see: Social Distortion, Machine Head, Garth Brooks, Blue Man Group

When I say I listen to all kinds of music, I'm not kidding (10,000 songs and counting on iTunes). I ran a record store for a few years which exposed me to so many things I would never have thought I would enjoy. A decade has passed since then and now I feel so disconnected with what's out there (I'm using this as my excuse instead of getting older haha). I read these groups on everyone's profile and I'm just lost... Music is really at my core so hopefully, you can at least appreciate my passion if you don't already share it!

Food: I don't do Sushi. Don't ask me to try it or anything else that dwells in water. I have and we didn't agree. I will, however, take a steak or meat lathered in BBQ sauce any day of the week. Mexican and Italian always a good call as well.
The six things I could never do without
Sunny days
My guitars
Music
Good food
Laughter
Someone who's the kind of friend who would be sitting next to you in jail saying, "damn, that was fun!"
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Oh, the randomness that is my thought bubble...

-Why do people wear sunglasses in the club? Seriously, that wasn't cool, even when there was a song about it.

-Why do some people have such horrible taste in music and fashion. I mean, wow...

-Why people hit their brakes going down the 101 when no one is in front of them. It's called a hill and a curve.

Not to offend some of you, but...
- Why do most of you take pictures of yourselves in public restrooms? Its like, "look at me! I just peed and now i'm taking a picture of myself!" Oh, and make sure that every picture on your profile is with at least 3 other girls. It's like your very own game of Where's Waldo.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with you? ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
-I don't regret those mistakes where I learned something.

-Each relationship has taught me a little about myself as well as what I want/don't want in a partner. I've been hurt in the past, but who hasn't. It hasn't stopped me from trying.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You enjoy your life, which is pretty busy, but would like to have someone who compliments it. One who, to steal a great line, isn't your world... just the best part of it.

Any of these sound like a fun first date: racing go-karts, swinging at pitches at a batting cage, miniature golf, catching a football game over a few beers at a sports bar.

You land somewhere between, "quirky and eclectic," "girl next door," and "quiet and reserved in public, but once you get me alone..."

You're cute! (of course any combination of smart, funny, beautiful, sweet and sexy also should!)
