I get engaged politically and often passionately in places like Facebook/blog sites. I will take on bullies. In today's climate I'm considered liberal or progressive but in a normal environment am rather centered. We haven't been in a normal environment for decades. You should not watch Fox News for your information or we'll have a problem. If you idolize Rush, Hannity, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, etc. I'll have a very hard time taking anything you say politically seriously.
I am an atheist. Not an agnostic or someone that isn't sure but an absolute non-believer in any gods and the notion of an afterlife. That has nothing to do with my morals or ethics. I'm a firm believer in the notion of the Golden Rule and/or karma and have a very compassionate and empathic side. I am in wonder and awe of the universe around us and look for scientific answers to the why's of life. I tend to be very compatible with religious and spiritual people as long as they are not evangelical although I could offend from time to time during my outrage over fundamentalists and people trying to tie religion to government.
That's the warts and all picture. I'm human, imperfect, passionate, full of myself at times, highly sensual, deep, stupidly honest, keenly intellectual, impatient sometimes because life is getting shorter, loyal and giving. I'm hoping for the same but not a clone. Differences add spice. Serious red flags add guaranteed failure.
OK, a note for Christian women out there since I've now had a few experiences. If you are a non-judgmental happy and secure Christian woman who's in the religion for the pageantry, the community, the music, etc. and could care less what others believe as long as their lives are ethical and kind, we will get along just fine. However, if you feel sad for me because I don't believe in one of the thousands of gods of history, including the Christian version, and feel that my life is incomplete or I have no sense of amazement and awe about the world and universe around me and can't possibly be ethical and moral without some authoritarian magic big brother looking over my shoulder, then you're a condescending snot no matter how gently or lovingly you put that. It should be noted that I don't get that attitude from the Jewish, Buddhist, Wiccan, non-religious but spiritual potential dates out there, only the Christians. (Oh and if there were Muslim women on here I'm sure the experience would be much the same) To all of you that have that holier than thou attitude, let me wish you the best of luck finding someone just like you although you should probably know that judgmental Christian men don't think much of women. You'll probably find a much higher percentage of misogynists, abusers, control freaks and liars among that crowd. Oh, and the ones that scream the loudest about the evil of gay people are probably the most likely to crave exactly that. If I've offended anyone with this paragraph then good. Stay away. We will not be a match.
