I am inquisitive, reflective, and playful.
My Self-Summary
I am confident, thoughtful, loving and easygoing. I'm happy with
myself and with my life, but it's more fun sharing nice things with
others - maybe that's where you come in?
I like cooking, travel, snow, rain, spring, light, walking,
picnics, interesting music, classical music, cosy cottages,
camping, seeing and thinking about beautiful things, taking things
seriously, not taking things too seriously. If you like some or all
of these things, maybe we'd get along?
What I’m doing with my life
For work - working as a business manager for an environmental
consultancy.
For play - experimenting with gardening in my tiny window boxes.
I've only managed to grow chillis and hyacinths so far, so there's
plenty of room for improvement. Trying to learn about photography,
although I don't have a camera. Wondering whether I can get away
with writing a book, or whether it'd be far too pretentious, and
leaning towards the latter. Finding out about events in Oxford and
seeing as many as I can. I write a few reviews for a local magazine
which is great for free tickets! I've just joined an orchestra
where I play the violin (badly).
I’m really good at
Being pragmatic;
Finding fun ways to pass the time at airports;
Massages;
Finding beauty in music and art;
Making lists;
Talking;
Being quiet;
Being thoughtful and serious;
Being silly and playful.
The list of things I'm not really good at might be equally long,
but I'm here to sell myself, right?
The first things people usually notice about me
Someone told me the other day that they had thought me to be shy,
which came as some surprise! I'm not.
Also, I have my own teeth. I'm clean (for a boy), I smell nice, my
hair is the same colour as my eyes, which is quite unusual when you
think about it.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
While I don't have much spare time for books, I'm slowly reading
Nocturnes, by Kazuo Ishiguro. My favourite book is
The Good Soldier
Svejk, by Jaroslav Hasek.

The six things I could never do without
Nature (particularly trees and - dare I say it - baby
animals);
Music;
Kisses;
Sunshine;
The countryside;
Sense of smell (closely related to kisses)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Moving to a faraway land where the sun is always shining, and
people aren't in such a hurry.
On a typical Friday night I am
No Friday night is typical. Until recently, I worked shifts for 5
years, so most Fridays are now spent marvelling at being able to do
anything at all. I just started disaster response training with an
International Search and Rescue charity (not Thunderbirds) which
takes up some of my weekends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
It's interesting that OkCupid wants us to share private things. I'm
willing to admit three...
When I see or hear things I like, I write about them (not as
serious an endeavour as it might sound);
I love Khaled, his joyful music and cheeky smile;
For some reason, I regularly forget the name for a baby sheep.
You should message me if
If you think we'd get along, if you want to inspire and be
inspired, if you're lovely, sensitive, intelligent, open, and
looking for someone similar. Looks aren't that important, but I
hope you know and like yourself, look after yourself and are
comfortable with who you are. If you're self-aware, easygoing and
adventurous, that would be great too! Is this too much to ask?
