My self-summary
I am....lots of things. I find these summaries are never any easier to write the more I write them. Sometimes it just feels like I'm writing some persuasive essay in hopes that someone will give me a chance, which I guess is kind of the idea.

However, I find I can't really do that. I can tell you what it is that interests me, and maybe give a hint of my character, but that's about it. So, guess I'll do that.

I live for adventures and new experiences. I love to interact with different people, and I'm a firm believer in learning something new every day. Music is my biggest passion, particularly the marching arts, which I have been in for over 8 years now. I am also passionate about the arts as a whole, being that I am also a photographer and a painter. I enjoy thoughts about life, philosophy, and people, and particularly enjoy people who have ideas about the world. And for those of you who look at Myers-Briggs as a way to formulate judgment, I'm an INFJ personality type.

Being forthright, I look for relationships that are meaningful, and I look for people more for their brain than anything else. Maybe that'll pigeonhole me, but I think that's okay, because maybe I'll fare better in finding someone who wants the same.

Obviously, there's more to me than I've written, but that's a basic intro if anything. I'm always up for getting to know someone, and as a rule I'm an open book about myself. So, feel free to message me of you'd like to get to know me.

What I’m doing with my life
Just graduated with my BA in Psychology with minors in Environmental Studies and Visual Arts. Also starting my career as a mental health worker in residences for adults with acute mental illness. Besides that, I march drum corps in the summer, and in the winter I do indoor percussion. In my free time, I'm also a photographer and a painter.
I’m really good at

(Or talking to people, using some quality vocabulary, telling some interesting stories, babbling on about philosophy, and doing things that allow me to tell interesting stories.)
The first things people usually notice about me
In terms of appearance, the beard and the blue eyes, and that I'm in fact not the tallest guy they've ever met.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Alchemist, Warrior of the Light, The Essence of Happiness, The Art of Happiness, The Tao of Pooh, the Te of Piglet, 1984, Brave New World, Mind Over Matters, The Last Lecture, Walden, Civil Disobedience, You Are Here, and Steal Like An Artist. Also currently attempting to read Infinite Jest.

Boyhood, Waking Life, Inception, Sweeny Todd, The King's Speech, Zombieland, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Miracle, The Emperor's New Groove (yeah, really.), It's Kind of a Funny Story.

I honestly rarely watch TV, but if I do, it's usually hockey (or baseball, in case there is no hockey). If not that, usually either How I Met Your Mother or something on BBC like Doctor Who or Top Gear.

The Cinematic Orchestra, Kaki King, The Album Leaf, Bonobo, Zedd, Bright Eyes, Drum Corps International, Alexandre Desplat, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Mogwai, Yo-Yo Ma, Yellowcard, Mumford and Sons, Radiohead, Panic! At The Disco, The Gaslight Anthem, Balmorhea, Bon Iver, 30 Seconds to Mars, Sigur Ros, The Strokes, The Beatles, God Is An Astronaut, Hint, Ben Harper, Jose Gonzalez, Dustin O'Halloran, and way more.

I don't know where on here it would go, but I've also been hooked on listening to the Welcome to Night Vale podcasts.

Basically, I've got a really eclectic taste in music. Also, I listen to a LOT of things on Spotify.
The six things I could never do without
-Music (both playing it and listening to it).
-Human interaction, because people really do color one's perspective of the world. As Bill Nye once said, "everyone knows something you don't."
-Good food. Self-explanatory.
-Ideas, because ideas feed the human engine, as I see it.
-Travel, just to see more of the world.
-Friends. Who can do without friends?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music, rhythms, and little technical aspects of music. Funny memories, thoughts about change, progress, etc. I think "a lot" is the jist of it.

Also, "why the fuck are other men off their rockers these days?", albeit not in so few words. (Not that this profile or any other is removing the "men are psychotic and sex-driven" stigma, but it'd be nice if the entire male gender could figure their shit out.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing band, working, or sitting home doing stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sleep with my legs elevated at a nine degree angle. (Just kidding; I don't know the angle. Could you imagine?)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–23
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if

Or, if I sound at all interesting, if you want to talk, if you too spend numerous hours on Tumblr, or, y'know, if you want to.

(Performers/artists/passionate people preferred!)
