I am a single father. If that is a deal breaker for you then we probably wouldn't click anyway.I've been a performance artist for almost twenty years, and am still trying to figure out how to make art pay my bills. I like to have fun. I am straight but not straight as an arrow. I think I am a pretty attractive guy, but I am large. Not fat, just a big man. I like all types of women, as long as you are not unhealthy. Tall girls are nice, but not necessary. I like to tell jokes and make people laugh. One day, I hope to make money with the haunted house I have been running for 6 years.
What I’m doing with my life
I am trying to reopen an underground, speakeasy, breakfast cafe, that had its trial run last year. If you are familiar with the now defunct Dry River, then you have a pretty good idea of what i would like to create with this project. If you have never heard of Dry River, then let's just say I would like to facilitate an activist community center that sells coffee, breakfast, snacks, and alcohol.
I am, first and foremost, a father, so, on the weekends, I am usually doing something with my son, Billy Jack, during the day. I love having people come over in the evenings though, and my warehouse/apartment is kind of a gaming and social hub for many of my friends. During the week, I am working or trying to find work, but I have lots of (too much) free time. I like playing Dungeons & Dragons. There is almost a cult that has formed around Settlers of Catan, and it meets in my livingroom fairly regularly.
I do a lot of MCing for burlesque and comedy shows. I usually am performing in the shows I MC, as well. I am working on a stand-up routine, and a series of altered, reclaimed thrift store paintings.
I’m really good at
I am really good at making people laugh. I have been told that I have quite a knack for conflict resolution. I am excellent at spending way too much time watching movies, and doing dumb shit on my computer. I am a good father. I'm a decent cook and an avid game player.
The first things people usually notice about me
My loud voice and laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- I am an avid reader, and my taste is quite eclectic. I enjoy classics like Moby Dick and Frankenstein, anything by Poe, Faulkner, Hemingway, and many others. I also love Cormac Mccarthy, Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King, and Frank Herbert, -these are just a few of my faves. I love non-fiction as well. Robert Anton Wilson has been a long time guru for me. Books about chaos magic, psychology, tantra, and really just about anything that challenges my belief systems. Sci-Fi is probably my go to genre. I also love poetry. I don't have much experience with contemporary poetry, but would like to. e.e. cummings and Uncle Walt are two of my faves. I used to do slam poetry, and I won 16th place at the nationals in Austin 1997(or 98?).
Movies and Shows-I spend way too much time watching movies and shows. I don't have cable, so its mostly stuff I can find online. Again, my taste are varied- I love horror movies from the 50's and 60's, exploitation, art films, modern blockbusters, kid movies, documentaries(this one should be further up the list), and just about anything but sappy romances, although I like a few of those too. As for tv- The Walking Dead, Gotham, Supernatural, Survivor, Daredevil, Dr. Who, Broadchurch, Penny Dreadful- I could go on, but let's not.
Music- I like almost anything. Love going to shows especially local musicians. I love karaoke.
Food- Japanese, Korean, Thai, Italian, Mexican, Ethiopian-actually I like just about all food. I try and feed my son healthy food, but sometimes he gets mac and cheese. I cook a fair amount of our meals. People usually like my cooking, but, as I tend to make stuff up as i go, not every meal is a winner.
The six things I could never do without
1. My son
2. Readn', Ritn' (and even Rithmatic)
3. Sex and intimacy
4. Performing (singing, clowning, slamming, etal.)
5. My friends
6. Lists of 5 things
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Creative endeavors and how to make money with them, chaos magic,
sex, the zombie apocalypse, my haunted house, and the well being of
On a typical Friday night I am
Often at home. My son is with me Friday through Sunday, so I don't often go out on weekends. Sorry. I know I have mentioned my son in practically every part of this profile. He is a huge part of my life, but I DO have time for you. I try and have friends over at my place Friday or Saturday night for games or movies, and my son sleeps like a rock, so there are plenty of options for hanging out. I just rarely go out on weekends. During the week I have lots of time, and I would love to go out more on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well, this seems like the go to answer on this site, but it's the one that makes the most sense: I'll tell you anything you want to know if you ask, and if we hit it off i'll feel free to volunteer any information that may be important to our continued success. Im not shy, i just don't understand why I should reveal some big secret about myself here. I am polyamorous, but that is no secret.
You should message me if
You should message me if you are polyamorous, and aren't hung up on things getting serious. Don't take this to mean I'm a player, or just looking for sex. I want love like everybody else, and I am perfectly willing to let things evolve in a natural way. I am not afraid of commitment, but I sometimes question its importance, or perhaps, its definition. I can be a very committed boyfriend, if by commitment you mean having the willingness and desire to grow alongside you. If you mean I should promise to be only with you, or that I should expect the same from you, then I am awful at it. I don't cheat though, or manipulate people. Honesty is key. If none of this turns you off, if you consider yourself attractive, and if your nipples get hard when you think about clowns and/ or zombies, then drop me a line.
