My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Whimsical, lighthearted and love to laugh. I'm a down to earth New Englander at heart, and appreciate grounded, salt of the earth folks more than anything. Some of my more profound life experiences have been during meditation retreats, so I also enjoy talking about spirituality and the true meaning of yoga and all that kind of stuff too.

Passions include: yoga/meditation/personal enquiry, Latin dancing/Cuban salsa, travel, nature, social justice, somatic therapy, friendship, more play than work, creativity, healthy eats, movement.

I work as a psychotherapist at a high school, where I also tach yoga and mindfulness to the staff and teens. I like slowing down in our chaotic world. My main professional interest is in somatic therapy with a focus on expressive arts.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying the rare lazy morning at home. Taking dance and yoga classes. Studying somatic therapy. Cooking and preparing healthy meals. Traveling. Decorating my apartment.

I recently decided to make 1000 paper cranes. I can get pretty crafty, and enjoy knitting, sewing and making things.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Leading mindfulness and meditation exercises
Being present with someone
Getting better at teaching asana
Seeing the big picture
Finding beauty/humanity/humor in difficult situations
Being silly
Cuban Salsa dancing
The first things people usually notice about me

Music: I like most types of music. Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monae, Timba, Calle 13, some Kirtan, Arcade Fire, Silvio Rodriguez, the new D'Angelo album is on repeat.

Movies: Anything by Pedro Almodovar, When Harry met Sally, Harold and Maude, The NeverEnding Story, Funny Face, Inside Out was amazing. Also, I just saw CitizenFour, the Edward Snowden documentary, and it was great.

NPR, This American Life, other random podcasts.

I don't own a TV, but there is Netflix. The Wire and 30 Rock were really great. Greys Anatomy is my guilty pleasure- please don't judge : )

Books/Authors: Junot Diaz, Toni Morrison, Jumpha Lahira, engaging non-fiction, Dave Eggers, and more

I need to bring some New Yorker back into my life.

Sufi poetry

Gardening is fun and calming; I wish that I had one again. I like playing in the dirt and growing vegetables.

I generally avoid crowded bars and clubs, unless it is for dancing. A lounge or cafe is more my style. Or somewhere outside.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
"The cure for anything is salt water- sweat, tears or the sea."
-Isak Dineson
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Planning my meals. Planning travel adventures.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dancing Cuban Salsa or at a dinner party with friends

I am not a late night party person and usually avoid crowded bars or clubs.

Maybe on an epic date with you, that involves a sunset hike (hopefully)...
