Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm whimsical, lighthearted and love to laugh. I usually smile at
strangers on the street, and like to talk to anyone. As introverted
as I am, I thrive on social connections, which is why I work with
people. Some of my more profound life experiences have been during
meditation retreats, so I enjoy talking about spirituality and the
meaning of life and all that too.
Ten years in the Bay Area have revealed my granola tendencies, but
I'm still a down to earth New Englander at heart. I appreciate
grounded, salt of the earth folks more than anything.
I work as a psychotherapist and yoga teacher at a high school,
which is a trip, especially when the teens are making fun of my
clothes or using slang that I've never heard of. Haha, seriously
though, it's really fun when it's not too crazy. My main interest
is in somatic therapy with a focus on mindfulness, and I'm
currently in a yearlong somatic therapy training program. I also
incorporate art therapy techniques into my work, which helps the
kids access their subconscious right brain, and allows me to be
more visually creative too. Yay, it's a win-win!
My favorite things to do are dancing (mostly Latin and Cuban
Salsa), reading good books, yoga, hiking, escaping to hot springs,
traveling, and sharing a home-cooked meal with good company. Nature
is undoubtedly the best medicine, and I try to be in it as much as
possible. I'd love to live in a more natural setting, preferably by
the ocean, or at least a house with a backyard garden.
My background is in Social work and I lean far left politically.
