My self-summary
Hi, I'm Pete. A while back I decided to do some self improvement and so I went back to college, I currently have about a year left, I think (I hope). I'm a Geology major, and my minor has changed a few times, but it's currently something like Environmental Policy. If I go on to grad school, I'm not quite sure yet what I'd focus on, but I might try my hand at Law, or keeping doing the Science thing.

I'm not sure what convenient label might be applied to me, I'm pretty damn liberal, but I'm definitely not a hippy, although I do love spending a healthy amount of time outdoors when I can, and I'm definitely big on sustainability.

I love to read, lots of Sci Fi, Fantasy, and Travel Lit. I also am something of a gamer, though not nearly as much as when I was younger.

I've been playing with the Myers-Briggs types, and I am apparently an INTJ, at least according to the free test I found:
Introvert(33%) iNtuitive(62%) Thinking(1%) Judging(22%)
You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (33%)
You have distinctive preference of Intuition over Sensing (62%)
You have marginal or no preference of Thinking over Feeling (1%)
You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (22%)
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to finish college as quickly as possible so I can get a big boy job and find someplace else I'd rather live. Also trying to get into better shape, I do go work out at the gym, trying to go almost every day. I'm also trying to keep up some semblance of a social life, I don't need much, I just like to spend time with my friends when I can.
I’m really good at
I soak up information pretty quickly and can analyze and react to it pretty quickly too. I keep a cool head in high pressure or emergency situations (seems to be a family trait), and I look out for the people around me, especially people who are close to me.

I'm also a fairly decent cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a pretty crazy, and loud, laugh that just fills up the space I'm in. It's quite distinctive.

Could be my beard, depends how fuzzy I am. There's also the possibility I just took off some or most of my clothes which admittedly can get mixed reactions. What can I say, I do a lot of dumb/inappropriate things for the sake of fun, like running into the ocean in just my boxers. Were people offended, maybe, was it awesome, yes it was, did I feel incredibly alive for the rest of the day, yes I did. =)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm going to just cave and make a freaking essay out of this section.

I love the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" better known these days as A Game of Thrones, and read it with relish long before it became a tv series, a series I haven't even managed to watch yet either. Anything Discworld by Terry Pratchett is pretty much amazing. Also my Kindle Paperwhite was a fantastic investment.

Hard to say what my favorite movies are, so the first to come to mind are the recent Batman trilogy with Christian Bale, and the new The Amazing Spiderman. But I love animated movies way more than any adult should, so there's that too.

I'm not a big tv watcher, but I do have a few favorites. Archer, The Venture Brothers, Bob's Burgers and American Dad. I'll also watch just about anything on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Travel Channel, HGTV, The Food Network, Nat Geo if I have access to some basic cable (not really worth having in my current situation).
Other shows I have known and loved are: Farscape, Firefly, Dr. Who, The Dresden Files, Stargate (pick one), MythBusters, Futurama, and probably a number of shows that network TV canceled before their time and that I no longer remember.

I'll listen to just about anything as far as music goes. I appreciate some good country, some of the more new age trance stuff, even some rap and hip hop. Oh, and I love some good bossa nova! I'll try anything, though I do have particular tastes within each genre.

Games, they mentioned those, right? I used to play World of Warcraft quite a bit, might even get back into it with some new friends. Skyrim is a favorite, but there's never enough time, anything with a decent team death match setup, most recently CoD with some friends. I have a ton of stuff in my Steam library that I picked up during sales. Minecraft since near the beginning... All sorts of games. Oh, and lets not forget my Cards Against Humanity set with the expansions, and my rarely used bag of dice with more/less than 6 sides.

Food, saving one of the best for last. I love food, good food. I would avoid it all together if I didn't need to eat, but I love flavors and aromas and textures too, it's complicated. I do love to cook when I have the time, and I can make some amazing dishes. I will try just about anything, and while there are a few flavors I am picky about, I'm just as happy with a bowl of really creamy mac and cheese as I am with a really good rare steak and a salad, or a bowl of cereal. I am a master of the grill, and the kitchen, and the campfire. Oh yeah, I also love dark chocolate and salted caramel, and I have a passion for blue cheese and other fancy cheeses from around the world, especially if it comes with warm fresh bread and some butter.

While we're on topic, how about I add something about drinks? I think liquor tends to taste better than beer, mixed drinks are awesome, I'm a little picky about beers, but I love a good hard cider. Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, Red's, etc, love 'em. In that same vein, I learned about the "snakebite" while I was at an Irish pub last year, half Guinness, half cider, all delicious.
The six things I could never do without
Hope.
Intimacy.
A good book.
My water bottle.
High speed internet.
A quiet outdoor space.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, love, the universe... Politics, the how and why of everything, things that interest me.

I have a pretty good idea of where I hope the human race is headed. My ideals are derived from a lot of science fiction and a system of morality based on reason and logic. If our species can survive the growing pains, we would surely spread to the stars, but at the moment it's still a fairly big if.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at home, avoiding the late night crowds that fill up downtown Springfield, but you might also find me hanging out with my friends and having a beer. Honestly it's been a while since I was single on the weekend, so I guess I'm still figuring out what all I do on a Friday night now. I may spend an hour or so at the gym too, because it's not like sitting at home on the computer or watching Netflix is really a better use of my time. :P
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really miss being in a comfortable, loving, happy relationship that just feels right. I miss having someone that was happy to do nothing with me all day long, or go on an adventure. I miss having a familiar body in bed next to me. I miss feeling something that stirs me. I miss the whole thing, and I hope I can find it again at some point.

I want to find someone who is comfortable getting fucked up and watching time lapse nature footage, or planning adventures, or contemplating the universe, or just musing on the random series of events that brought us together and how it's so damn rare to find someone who's weird syncs up with your own.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–29
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're emotionally mature, don't play a lot of games, know what you're looking for (and that happens to be something approximately like myself).

If you don't currently have children that's a pretty big plus. I'm not ready for my own or anyone else's, and I don't know if that's fair, it's just where I'm at right now.

If you're ok with the fact that I don't plan to stay in Springfield once I finish my degree. Now if things get awesome and you want to come with, that's fine, if you want to part ways, that would also be fine, but if neither option sounds appealing you should probably skip me, I don't want to stay in this town.
