I am zip, zap, and zop.
My Self-Summary
Right now I am really interested in food; cooking, foraging,
growing, storing, farm policies, environmental affects, eating,
etc. It is a great feeling to cut a huge watermellon off the vine
after monthes of growing. Nothing else tastes sweeter. Even my dog
has taken to produce with a new zeal... or maybe she is taking
advantage of the additional food around the house.
Professionally, I am an artist but I try to find excuses for work
to pay me to hike or just be outside:)
What I’m doing with my life
Good question, I teach theatre design, backpacking and organic
gardening at a local university- I know, electic but fun as hell at
least some of the time.
This is or what I should have done today
1. yoga
2. brunch with friends
3. work on my prints
4. finish the skylight project I started over a year ago
5. finish an essay for an application to do an MFA in
Interdisciplinary Art (I have a masters in writing- but don't
expect that I am good or even like to write)
6. cook applesauce, brussel sprouts, curried squash soup
7. pull over onto the side of the road to pick up dropped
walnuts
8. take my dog for a hike
9. grade papers
I’m really good at
smiling through the best and worst of it all
The first things people usually notice about me
I look about 18... okay maybe 22. I don't get carded as much
anymore.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I feel like all I get to read is for classes, which is sad. The
best of those would be Louv's Last Child in the Woods, and
Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
Favorite movie is Chocolat...Depp, Binoche, and chocolate, although
I watch a wide range from blockbusters to documentaries and yes the
occasional chick flick.
The two newest restaurants I like are Tamari and the Round Corner
Catina. My favorite brunch place is always Cocoa's. I think I
single handedly got the herb goat cheese stuffed French toast
permantly on the Sunday menu. The staff may have other ideas.
I am a vegetarian and have been for over a decade but I do eat
fish.
And I am a member of WYEP for those that understand
The six things I could never do without
1. trips home to the ocean
2. my dog, ruby
3. sugar
4. sleep
5. my friends
6. my favorite pair of jeans
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I have no idear (imagine a slight Boston accent)
On a typical Friday night I am
...there is no typical Friday night. I try to balance my life
between going out with friends, taking a run with my dog (last
Friday), seeing theatre and art events or even having one moment to
myself.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
My parents bet on how long it would take for me to fall off my
chair at dinner when I was a child.
You should message me if
you are age appropriate- meaning not 22 or 50
