My self-summary
Well, I like to start off with the Miggs-Bryer Personality Type. I used to be INTP (or INFP, I bounced between the two. My S/N were pretty close to 50/50 too but F/T always his exactly 50/50). I'm not either of those anymore; throughout college I have evolved as a person dramatically and I'm actually now an ENFJ. When I took the test my senior year of college after not having taken it since my freshman year, I was astounded at how I could have gone from INTP to ENFJ, haha! But I like who I have become!

I come from eastern upstate NY, near the Adirondacks. After college I am considering getting a job in NYC, Buffalo, or Rochester, although I am not sure if I would like to live within NYC itself; I would much prefer to live on Long Island. I have also considered living in Queens or Brooklyn. It's up in the air for now, we'll see!

I think of myself as pretty ambitious--I want to go places with my career but also in my personal life. I want to have a home, a job, and a set of friends that I can be proud of. I'm not afraid to work to get to where I need to be. But I always keep in mind the phrase, "You can always be a victor without having victims." Never step on anyone or make enemies for the sake of getting to the top.

I think I might be a bit of a nerd. I'm into Sci-Fi, and would definitely like to go to Comic-Con someday, if only for people-watching (but also to see the cast members of some of my favorite shows). I also like video games, although I don't play them very much anymore, and would love to get into E3 sometime too just for the experience (I always wanted to go as a kid, back when it was open to the public). I like to insert references to my favorite movies/TV shows into my everyday speech. I especially love making very obscure references to my friends who watch the same shows as me, to see if they get it.

I consider myself to be relatively kind and compassionate. I really like to make people happy, and am a total people-pleaser. When I date people I love to make them feel special, and try to put a lot of thought into dates (although I do like to come to mutual agreements on those, for the most part).

I'm somewhat introverted in general, but love to have people take me out of my comfort zone! I'm not that adventurous when left to my own devices but have a great time when friends take me along with them. I would love having someone more adventurous than me to take me along on adventures I would never have thought up on my own!
What I’m doing with my life
I am working towards an MS in Computer Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Henrietta, NY. I received my BS in Information Technology from RIT in May 2013. I am also a proud brother of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity!
I’m really good at
I consider myself pretty good at troubleshooting technology issues and exploring technical issues. Boring, right? Well, I like to think that this makes me somewhat perceptive. That means I can sometimes give some good advice, even if I often don't follow my own.

This also has given me somewhat of a talent in reading people, believe it or not. I consider myself pretty capable of telling when someone is hiding something, not telling the whole truth, or feeling something other than what they're saying in general. But picking up on that can be very frustrating for me sometimes. This has led to me being called an "empath" by some people, and from the definitions I have found it definitely seems to fit.
The first things people usually notice about me
You'd have to ask other people this question! I've known myself for a long time, so I might notice altogether different things about myself than others would.

I asked one of my friends what he would say, just for you. He didn't know either. Oh, well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, pretty much anything written by Stephen King (including The Dark Tower series).

Movies - I'm into Angelina Jolie movies, also comedies, especially romantic comedies. I love films by Disney and Pixar, particularly A Goofy Movie and The Incredibles. I also like action movies quite a bit, superhero movies for example. I recently saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower and thought it was fantastic.

TV Shows - My favorite TV show of all time is Supernatural. I'm also into Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, and How I met Your Mother. I love Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, and Spongebob and will watch them when I see them on TV, although I don't often catch the new episodes. I've been watching Heroes on Netflix too, although it's taking me a while to get through the series. Some of my favorite TV shows growing up were Hey Arnold, The Amanda Show, Jackie Chan Adventures, Xiaolin Showdown, Yu-Gi-Oh!, CatDog, Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter's Laboratory, Teen Titans, Samurai Jack, and a bunch of other stereotypical 90's and 00's cartoon shows (nostalgia's a hell of a thing).

Music - Music is a hard thing to talk about with me. I don't know song names or artists, really. I can say that I really like soundtracks (For video game soundtracks, I love The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy. One of my favorite movie soundtracks is The Incredibles). I am a big fan of Angela Aki and Fiona Apple. I also like popular artists like... well, I already said I was terrible at knowing song titles and artists. I do have Spotify and love learning new artists from friends on there.

Food - I like good food. I like to eat healthy and try not to eat a lot of meat, and don't generally eat ham or pork at all (I'll eat it if in something, but I'll never explicitly order it). I'm not a vegetarian (although I was vegan for several months in high school), but I love vegetables and like them to outnumber my meat (seriously, watch Forks vs. Knives and you'll get it). They have more flavor anyway! When I do have meat I like my steaks medium-rare, and I am not afraid of sashimi (that's the raw fish in some sushi). I like trying new foods, although I'm often guilty of sticking with the same-old safe-bet at many restaurants. My favorite categories of food are Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Italian, and sometimes Irish.
The six things I could never do without
Friends - Friends keep me grounded when I am feeling depressed or just need someone to talk to.

Affection - I love showing people I care, and would love to be shown the same by others.

Memories - I am ridiculously sentimental and a lot of the enjoyment I get out of life comes from things that remind me of the past, whether good, bad, or bittersweet. They all got me to where I am today, after all.

Computers - It's what I work with and where I have a lot of passion. However, it's difficult to say whether I have more passion for computers or for the career which they represent to me.

iPhone - It's how I keep in touch with people; it also has an exceptional UI, and I can play games on it.

Money - An excess of money is nice to have, but the fact is you can't get by if you don't have any. It sucks to have to put this on there, because I feel like putting such a high value on money is shallow. But honestly, I could never live in a state of constant worry over how I'll pay the bills.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future--whether immediate or distant. I often overthink things by getting lost in variables and outcomes. This is something I've been personally working on, because my lack of spontaneity is something I've never really liked about myself and I feel like I could get a lot more enjoyment out of life and be much more actively involved in things if I didn't get so lost in thought all the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually am hoping someone will invite me to go someplace, although sometimes I'll ask myself. That's something I'm getting better at doing. If neither of those things happen there's a good chance I'll sit at home on Reddit or Trillian, or play some video games. Though I don't play video games much, so I might resort to Netflix or crocheting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I'm alone I sometimes pretend I am a waterbender (think Avatar: The Last Airbender / The Legend of Korra). I'll do the moves and everything. I've pretended to bloodbend people who walk by outside my window.

Another very private thing I am willing to admit are my four greatest fears in the world (in order):
• Being in love when it isn't reciprocated
• Getting left behind or abandoned by people I care about
• Being forgotten by people who used to be important to me
• Not having as much of an impact on other people as they have on me
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 18–22
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
Message me if you're a nice, masculine guy with similar interests, I suppose. Don't be shy, I almost always reply.
