I am unconventional, optomistic-sarcastic, and realist.
My Self-Summary
I feel like I'm an average guy, living an average life, but I tend
to do things in an unconventional way. I'm fairly non-judgmental,
and even tempered, but I'm definitely a realist. I usually assume
people are going to screw things up, and hope that I'll be
pleasantly surprised when they don't. I'm sarcastic, but do it with
a smile, so usually my friends find my humor amusing rather than
irritating.
I started a new job in October, and love the company and the work
I'm doing (nerdy engineering stuff, I promise I won't bore you with
details unless you ask for it). However, it has made me lapse into
a bit of my reclusive habits, so I've been feeling strong urges to
socialize with people, but going to bars by myself doesn't sound
like fun, maybe that's just an excuse... Maybe I should try
interacting with my co-workers more, but the lure of finding people
on here to interact with that I have a small mathematical chance of
not disliking is very tempting.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, mountain biking, going to the park with my dalmation
(Pokey, she's 13), video games, spending too much time on my
computer (playing Starcraft, it's old, but still fun).
Searching for new activities now that my life has settled down a
bit...
I’m really good at
Listening/counseling/giving advice, friends and acquaintances seem
to sense this about me and come to me with their problems
constantly (which I'm generally happy to help them through).
Also, fixing things, there's been many times when people have been
amazed by my ability to fix pretty much anything. (It's not
bragging if it's a fact, right?)
The first things people usually notice about me
The contrast between my friendly smile and my sarcastic sense of
humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Almost everything that Frank Herbert, or Brian Herbert has
written. Aurthur C. Clarke, Stephen King, Poppy Z. Brite, Clifford
Simak, Isaac Asimov, ceramics technique books, random economics
books, and other random books.
Movies: I'm kinda picky about, I rarely watch a movie twice, and my
standards are probably too high, but give me a decent comedy or
Sci-Fi and I'm happy.
Music: Tool, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Eagles of Death
Metal, Pusifer, A Perfect Circle, Combichrist, All That Remains,
Creature Feature, Stolen Babies, Lacuna Coil, Static-X, Deftones,
Gravity Kills, Ministry, The Murder City Devils, Linkin Park, She
Wants Revenge, Radiohead, Tori Amos, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Vitalic,
Black Strobe...
Food is hit and miss, I'll try most stuff, I prefer American, Thai,
Lebanese, or Indian, but I'm not too keen on seafood.
The six things I could never do without
friends
my dog
Sci-Fi books
music
video games
cake/brownies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Finding stuff to do so I'm not bored, the size of the universe, car
racing (rally, not Nascar), Giant Mutant-Nuclear-powered robots, my
dog, the future, and technology.
On a typical Friday night I am
I seem to spend alot of my Friday nights with friends at a variety
of activities. Video games, foosball, or going out are the typical
activities. Although since I just bought a rallycross car with a
friend that has been occupying my weekends lately.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Just ask me, I don't believe in hiding anything.
You should message me if
- Something caught your eye...
- You have your life relatively together, or you are at least
trying to get there.
