I am kind, thoughtful, and silly.
My Self-Summary
So here we go, time to write that book about myself that will keep
you on the edge of your seat in anticipation...or slumped back
sound asleep. Well, to start I tend to be a low-key person who
takes pride in his job and his life. I work in the computer
industry and love my job. I enjoy various things from hiking
(particularly parks and nature trails), reading (4am in
morning..."just one more chapter...just one more chapter..."),
computers,
camping,
photography, and
cartoons. Yes,
cartoons…just a big kid at heart. I particularly love animated
movies like Monsters Inc. I love animals, though don't have any
pets currently. Used to have a
dog (or she had me, however you look at it)
but she passed away a few years ago, which devistated me. My latest
hobby is
woodworking, don't know if the best
part is making things or the collecting of tools. In fact, my new
years resolution is to not cut off any fingers when in the garage
(good resolution, huh?). I'm not into politics, night clubs, nor
the bar scene.
I always try to laugh and I think a smile is the best medicine. I
like making people laught, even if it is at my own expense. My
humor can sometimes be sarcastic, but often it is a little "goofy".
Whatever it takes to get that smile. AND I cannot tell a joke to
save my life. Remember Marlin in Finding Nemo trying to tell a
joke...?
So what am I looking for? While kind of obvious, but still bears
mentioning, someone who is honest and open, caring, and likes to
smile. I would like someone who can be spontanious on occasion as
well as liking things planned out too. Someone who sees a
relationship as something that is always building, and who is
willing to put the needed time and effort into such. Conversation
is very important to me, so someone who is willing to open up, be
fully honest with their thoughts and opinions and who likes to talk
and can hold their own in a conversation. And finally, it would be
great to find someone who shares some interest in a few of the the
hobbies I do, but has her own hobbies too. I am at the point in
life where health and well being are important to me. Also, I am
striving to make a lifestyle change, lose weight, and lead a
healtheir
lifestyle. The more focused I am on this, the more I find I am
looking for someone with similiar views and goals.
What I’m doing with my life
At the point in my life in which I am enjoying what I have worked
for. I have reached many of my goals including degree in software
engineering, a good job, great career, good home, friends and all.
I am taking that step in my life and working to become more active
and healtheir. This is a lifelong commitment.
I’m really good at
Computers (given my career, that is a no brainer), being silly,
researching things to death and driving friends/family crazy
because I want to "share" what I have learned, nit-picking things I
do (perfectionist), not finishing a project I started (work in
progress...always), ...
The first things people usually notice about me
My red hair and glasses? I don't know. Never asked someone to find
out.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music I like all kinds. Usually I listen to country, but also 80's
and 90's, oldies, classical, new age, Celtic, etc. No heavy rock or
rap.
I prefer comedy movies. Favorites are Armageddon and You've Got
Mail. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are two of my favorite actors. Also
enjoy animated shows such as Monsters Inc, Finding Nimo, and anime.
Anime, I really like Fushigi Yugi and Azumanga Daioh, first being a
comedy/drama/love story and the later being a slapstick
comedy.
TV wise, I actually don’t have cable/satellite right now; cancelled
about 2 years ago. Do mostly Netflix. However, when I did have
satellite or am able to watch tv over at my friend’s or family’s, I
usually surf from DIY channel, animal planet, discovery, cartoon
network, and sci-fi channel.
Books, I am into fantasy and sci-fi. Mostly the fanstasy side,
prefering light hearted or very indepth story lines. Harry Potter
of course is close to tops. Enjoyed Sword of Truth series. Can't
wait till next Dan Brown's mystery book comes out.
Favorite food: chinese, bbq
The six things I could never do without
- Soap
- cell (believe it or not, I only use it to call. I don't
text)
- computer
- friends
- ipod (gym without ipod is torture....of course gym with ipod is
still torture, but at least it is more bearable)
- tools (woodworking, power, hand tools, ....arrrrhhhh arrhhhhh
arrrrrh)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I think so much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Just relaxing and recouping from a long week at work. Visiting a
friend or family. Catching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am pretty open and honest, so hard to figure out what I would
say. Ask and I will tell you.
You should message me if
You are looking for a good, steady, dependable guy. Like to laugh.
Like challenges in life. Looking for more than just friends or one
night stands (not into that).
