I am a cat who walks alone, loves dogs and jazz... that's what I usually call myself. A rebel at heart striving for peace of mind - that's me, too, however contradictory it may sound. Otherwise, a sophisticated lady... sensitive... sensual... yet sensible...

I love life, nature and the world around me, and I feel happy every morning when I wake up, come rain or come shine. I try to be natural, positive and optimistic, never give up and always look into the future with hope and good will. I am open, warm, affectionate and caring, and I easily get attached and committed to the people I like. Some of my top priorities are freedom in the widest sense of this word, sincerity and honesty in relations, tolerance and right to privacy.

I am a born rebel and free spirit, somewhat of a dissident, and I have been self sufficient for as long as I can remember myself. I usually try to do things on my own and in my own way, but I always respect other people and their ideas, and I am a good listener. I know that the world is not just black and white, but mostly it is colourful (sometimes also grey, though), so I am very flexible and always ready for compromise. I have no problem to say 'I am sorry' even when it was not my fault... I just value peace of mind too much.

I am not someone who cannot see the forest for the trees... I never judge the book by looking at its cover, so I avoid shallow people with superficial attitude and those who say what they do not mean. I do not get dramatic about everyday trifles, and I am not a whining or complaining kind. I detest conflicts of any kind and always try to avoid situations that might cause them. But I am a fighter, and I can be very strong when I have real problems to deal with.

Otherwise I am an Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judger (INFJ), aka "The Mystic Writer", or an Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiver (INFP), aka "The Idealistic Philosopher"... I score both types equally often on various personality tests, and both reflect the most important traits of my character well enough.

I am a linguist by profession, and I used to teach English at the University for about 15 years. Later I switched to translations and worked as translator for medical journals. Now I am mostly busy with certified translations of documents and desk top publishing. I also work with graphics and do some web design, it is where I can show my creative spirit...

A part of my heart belongs to the Pekingese. I have a small FCI registered kennel and show my dogs in Europe quite a lot. It is another full time job for me, but it also fun and gives me a lot of pleasure and satisfaction.

my professional work, but I also have many hobbies... some of them are music, art, nature, animals, reading, cooking, baking, knitting, crochetting, collecting, growing cacti and succulents, breeding and showing dogs, travelling, driving... whatever I do, it has to be fun and I must enjoy it!

Music is something I cannot live without. I know good music when I hear it... jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, soul, classic rock, swing, big band, orchestra, classical music, and much more... but everything started with The Beatles, just as for many people of my generation...

I have no special food preferences, I enjoy all good food, and I always try to find out what the local or traditional food tastes like when I am travelling. Otherwise, I am a fairly good cook...

Music, books, computer, Internet, car, my dogs... and all the natural beauty surrounding us... walking along the seaside is something that I enjoy doing to keep as close to the nature as possible.

... life and love... but I cannot express it better than my favourite Russian poet, actor and singer Vladimir Vysotsky said in one of his songs: "I breathe, therefore I love... I love, therefore I live... If you have not loved, you have not lived, and you have not breathed..."

... and I cannot but agree with Leonard Cohen that "love is the only engine of survival"...

I also think about long distance relationships, and the other day I came across this brilliant phrase: "In true love the smallest distance is too great, and the greatest distance can be bridged" (Hans Nouwens). How wise and how true...

At home, most probably grooming my Pekingese and getting ready to go to a dog show on Saturday or Sunday, or driving all night long to be there in the morning...

I had a happy marriage, my husband was a musician (classical and jazz pianist, big band leader, orchestra conductor, music critic) with an artistic mind and encyclopaedic knowledge and interests going far beyond music. He passed away in 2005, and I feel very lonesome now. But life has to go on, and now I feel that I am open for a new relationship... I am not looking for adventures or a vacation romance, and I am certainly not desperate in any way.

To fall asleep and to wake up in the arms of the man I love... to hold hands whenever we are together and to kiss each time our eyes meet... to cry and to laugh for no reason whatsoever... to talk carelessly about nothing and to take care of each other in everything... to feel as one no matter if we are close together or far apart... that's my idea of love and happiness... I had all that and much more, and I miss it... now once again I want to love and be loved in return... that's my desire...

you feel that we are like minded... if something I have written touches some hidden strings in your mind and soul... if you wish to make a new friend... if you think that I could be the one you would like to share your love and your life with... there can be more reasons that we just cannot foresee...

I am rather traditional and believe that men are the hunters and the chasers, while women are the keepers... so I will expect you to show your interest in me, and I will do my best to keep the fire burning...
