I'm a deadpan snark when I'm comfortable with people, though it takes a special person to get my humor sometimes (its here, there, around the corner, off whar thar be dragons, taking a quick nip in Britain and back again) and impossibly quiet when in large groups of people (because crowds are not my friend all that much).

I have a gift for telling terrible stories, making intentionally lame jokes and making people laugh whether they want to or not.

I like books, and reading them. Books are like bowties. They are cool. I love slightly obscure documentaries (movie or book form) and sociology books.

I am terrible at drawing things, unless you're into miss-proportioned stick figures. And if you like those, a few minutes in MS Paint and I can totally make at least an attempt at one. Skills, sir!

There arent many things I wont try once.

Web based customer support for a company in California is the primary job.

I have also been consulting for a resort theme park in Pennsylvania, trying to open a "facilitation business" in the South Texas oil fields, and submitting written articles and short stories to anyone who claims and/or subtly hints they will pay for them.

One day, I'll end up finishing off a masters degree in something, but that requires one of the above taking off, because student loans arent fun.

Playing to win. Its a terrible habit I cant seem to break. I have a hard time doing anything competitive for fun. I'm not "casual". I'm working on it though!

Writing papers. I've helped several current and former co-workers pass classes with required essays. It keeps me in shape too.

Reading the books, listening to the music and watching the movies people recommend.

Avoiding having my picture taken. Filthy, evil pictureses.

Making people laugh / groan with terrible jokes, puns and observations. Wordplay is neat, wordplay when it makes someone giggle is better.

I'm told its "A comforting laugh and full-lower faced grin". Apparently my nose "scrunches a bit".

Also, since moving to Texas, I've been informed, many, many times, that blue eyes make you stand out. At least I know where they're looking.

I like things. Lot of things. Here's some:

Books / Authors - Terry Pratchett, George Martin, Malcom Gladwell, Tim Dorsey, Jim Butcher, J.M. Hayes.

Movies: The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Office Space, Road Trip, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Lucky # Slevin, Smokin' Aces, Waiting, Accepted, Hot Fuzz.

Music: Rock. Classic, Irish, Folk, 'abilly. Some Pop, a little country, a slight touch of old hip-hop and classical music round it out. Also, showtunes of the "This isnt crappy" variety.

I'm not "all about music". But music is awesome, and I listen to it.

Food: I eat it. Not the biggest fan of the green bits.

TV : I enjoy Dr. Who, MST3K, Law and Order, NCIS, Psych, Castle, Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development, Firefly, and things that make you go "Oh, thats like (one of those above).

Shameless might be the best show on TV. Maybe.

I see this as "The six things I'd be a far grumpier person if you took away":

My computer. Robble, robble, shakefist.

Air Conditioning. I'm supposed to live in Alaska or Canada or the northeast, or somewhere the seasons arent "Hot", "Hotter", "Hottest" and "Somewhat Cool".

My eyesight. I would make a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad blind person. I'd be just fine sans a couple other senses, but I'm keeping my eyes.

The ability to learn. It would drive me crazy if I wasnt able to find out new stuff, or things work.

My truck. Sometimes its just nice to be able to get out and drive around. Its also nice to not have to drive something designed for someone in the mid 5 foot range.

The wee hours of the morning. I am a night person. I am not a morning person. Mornings are possibly evil and probably bastards.
