My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
i'm an adventurer. i'm passionate about exploring the world around me and discovering new places, trying new things, and experiencing different cultures. i care deeply about the natural and wild places on this earth and i tread lightly to minimize my impact. enjoying the journey and not just the destination is important to me.

i want to travel the world, but the Bay Area is definitely home. i am grounded in my life here, and the variety of the Bay provides plenty of opportunities for the new adventures i seek. i've lived here for 8 years and have a solid community of dear friends.

i'm a loyal friend and an open book. i say what i mean and i mean what i say. i am fiercely independent, and at the same time, crave social interaction. i'm equally happy on a solo walk in the woods or out at a bluegrass show surrounded by people enjoying themselves. i keep a great balance between my downtime and being out and about. i'm a natural planner and have a great eye for logistics and details.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
learning, teaching, laughing, exploring, living without regrets, seeking out the next adventure or challenge (usually of the outdoor variety), finding balance between attaining stability and satisfying my wanderlust...

i spent 5 months solo traveling around south america in 2011 and it's my dream to travel to every continent, but for now, i work at a local "green" tour company in SF and i'm stoked that i get to help show fellow travelers from all over the world our beautiful bay area in an eco-friendly way.

when i'm not at work, you might find me doing any of these things on any given day: hiking, camping, trying out a new restaurant with friends, experimenting in the kitchen, wine-tasting, brewery sampling, soaking in hot springs, on a road trip, taking pictures of natural and urban landscapes, dancing to live music, training in my martial arts practice, listening to the sounds of nature, relaxing in the comfort of home...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
communicating and keeping in touch with friends, being honest, logistics and organizing, composting, giving rides, getting into the outdoors, trip planning, reading maps (i'm a great road trip companion), nature photography, being your sous chef :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
just a very small sampling here:

books: animal, vegetable, miracle by barbara kingsolver, the omnivore's dilemma, harry potter, the hunger games, california hiking guides, travel memoirs and essays, lonely planet's south america on a shoestring...

movies: the motorcycle diaries, slumdog millionaire, planet earth series, avatar, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, tipping the velvet, touching the void, into the wild, 180 degrees south, various nature documentaries...

music: the waifs, brandi carlile, latin cumbia, old crowe medicine show, poor man's whiskey, gillian welch, indigo girls, kate wolf, brett dennen, michael franti and spearhead, melissa ferrick, sambada, ani difranco, the wailin' jennys, po'girl, the weepies, the be good tanyas, chris pureka... will listen to anything at least once! another good reason to take me on a road trip :)

food: preferably local, organic, and fresh. i'm mostly vegetarian, but i make an exception for good sushi and local dungeness crab.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
downtime
family and friends
fresh fruits and veggies
a valid passport
my camera
connecting with people from around the world
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my journey... my next road trip... where in the world do i want to travel to next?... how should i prepare all these veggies i just got in my weekly csa box?... letting go... how can i be a better person?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
possibly any of these:
-at home relaxing with a glass of wine and netflix
-enjoying dinner out with friends
-dancing the night away at a bluegrass show
-at work
-reading my favorite travel blogs
-on a moonlit hike
-heading out of town towards the wilderness
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
uh... not here, but ask me anything in person...
