My self-summary
I am not here for dating in any capacity. I am very happily involved, and in fact have been engaged to the world's best woman as of June 2012.
Update: When I receive messages asking why I have a profile on this site if I am involved and not looking to cheat, I will not bother to respond, and will assume the sender is too stupid and/or lazy to read my profile. I no longer feel it is necessary to be polite to people who question my integrity.
I would be amenable to meeting new people with similar interests for friends, but not if they are swingers or open-relationship types. That is effing creepy.
To expand on some of my "details" to the right; I do not, and never have, used any sort of recreational drug or alcohol. It is something I have always lacked any interest in. I guess I am straight-edge oby default, although I don't actively live that lifestyle. I am no health freak by any means, but I do not like having my mind altered by outside means. As for the atheism; that is exactly as it says. I do not believe in any gods. I am of the view that religious belief is actively bad for humanity. This does not mean I automatically dislike believers. I generally have respect for the individual, even if I reject their beliefs. I do not want children. This doesn't mean I dislike children. It has never been my goal to have any of my own. For many others, this is the biggest thing in their lives which defines them as people. I simply have a different view.
Politically, I consider myself mostly liberal. There will always be a few points from both sides I agree with, as well as a few from both which I find ridiculous. I would like to see the economy improve, and I would certainly like to see more manufacturing done in this country (in no small part because my job is one of those affected). I am 100% in favor of equal marriage rights for gays. There is no legitimate reason to oppose this, so I don't understand why it's still an issue.
While it may go against the established guy etiquette, I am not a fan of cars or professional sports. For me, cars are transportation only. I do not make a fetish of them. Watching a bunch of millionaires play games is equally uninteresting to me. I don't care if other people are fans; that's their business and they are welcome to it. It should not be expected, however, that I share their interest. The absolute contempt and ridicule I have for Nascar should not need elaboration. Aside from being mind-numbingly boring, it is not a sport. If Nascar is a sport, anyone with a driver's license is an amateur athlete.
After answering a number of the questions on here, I would like to add the following: There seem to be a lot of members who are obsessed with marijuana, and make it a focal point of their lives. If any of them are reading this, know that I find you stupid. Losers.
What I’m doing with my life
Working at a stupid (but well-paying, for the area and type of work) job, and spending as much of the little free time we have with the Fiancee Who Is Without Equal. And, now, saving and planning for the wedding next year.
I’m really good at
Remembering obscure superhero and heavy metal trivia, getting rid of junk, dealing with "scary" lifeforms (spiders and snakes), core molding, breaking up cat fights (between actual cats, not girls), making cool things out of Legos, Mortal Kombat II.
The first things people usually notice about me
Shaved head, septum (currently replaced by a retainer) and labret piercings, and tattoos. For many, that's all they see.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Writers: George R.R. Martin, Dan Simmons, Joe R. Lansdale, Stephen King, Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Jack Ketchum, Jacqueline Carey, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Harlan Ellison, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Glen Cook, Joe Hill; also a lot of comic books. If that makes me a dork, so be it.
Movies: Unforgiven, Let The Right One In, Falling Down, Dark Knight, District 9, They Live, Story Of Ricky, Audition, Iron Man, Machete, Ten to Midnight, Avengers, Religulous, The Cabin in the Woods
TV shows: A Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Dexter
Music: Slayer, Iron Maiden, Bad Religion, Venom, Emperor, Immortal, Tori Amos, Nachtmystium, old Metallica, Darkthrone, Celtic Frost/Triptykon, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Throwing Muses, Weapon, Joy Division, Watain, Judas Priest, Kreator, Destroyer 666, many others; but absolutely no country, Christian music, reggae, or R&B under any circumstances. Terrible.
Food: red meat, Thai, Chinese, broccoli, carrots, white meat chicken
The six things I could never do without
My Tiffy, my cats, my family, metal, books, free will
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stuff that's cool. Also, I wonder why there are so many people on here who claim to drink "rarely" or "socially" and yet list "having a few drinks" or "at the bar" as their most likely Friday night activity. Recently, my lifelong interest in dinosaurs has been reactivated, partially by my fiancee's work project of drawing some. I keep suggesting some of the less famous ones, but the triceratops is still my favorite.
On a typical Friday night I am
Frigging working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was never a private. I was a seaman. The following is not at all private, but it seems hard to believe for a lot of people: I have never drank alcohol, used tobacco, or taken any type of recreational drug in my life. And, I never will.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–50
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you read my stuff here and found my interests to be interesting, you would like to discuss anything on my profile, and you are aware I am not interested in stepping out.
