I am adventurous, inquisitive, and guess.

My Self-Summary

here goes...i am finishing up my phd now and at the moment embroiled in a love/hate relationship with academia. i spend a lot of time thinking about things that probably matter to about 7 people, and my mom (who promises to hang my dissertation on the fridge next to my 2nd grade art project).

i studied/lived in europe for two years and would like to move back at some point, even though i know its cliche- esp. in the district. i consider dc a rest stop, but definitely not a final destination. i have, however, come to appreciate (but not necessarily always engage in) the political discourse, free museums, and pretty white buildings.

i like books, especially good books. i think traveling to places without roads is so much better than the alternative. except paris, which technically does have roads...

What I’m doing with my life

at the moment undecided- do we ever really know?
i am currently a student and can't imagine a life outside of reading, inquiring, failing, learning...i will be completely content with whatever direction this course takes me

I’m really good at

making up words and convincing you they are real.
smiling at strangers.
making really really strong coffee.
charming airport security personnel.
getting lost, but then finding my way again.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

food: brie, dark chocolate, black cherries, black coffee, pluots, red wine
books: lolita, unbearable lightness of being, hundred years of solitude, master and margarita, this side of paradise
movies: philadelphia story, the breakfast club, breakfast at tiffany's
music: feist, phoenix, edith piaf, the national

The six things I could never do without

good books
candles
lavender
good wine
dark chocolate
green

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the people i meet
the people i pass but don't meet
the people i love
and everything else

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

i can't skip

You should message me if

you've gotten through all of this and still want to hear more.
