My self-summary Propose an edit
Currently not looking for love.
I hate writing about myself. I'm an artist. I like lists and
fragmented sentences. I love to paint, spray, oil, acrylic, ink, whatever
but I can never find the time anymore. I need visual inspiration.
Music will always
lead my life. I worship the gods of rock. Most of the time, i don't
capitalize i, nor do i put much time into fixing my spelling
mistakes. I'm constantly reading, spending entirely too much time
at my local bookstore. Mom's Cuban, Dad's White,
i'm somewhere in the middle(is this important?). Definitely
Strawberry Cheesecake
Ben and
Jerry's (former Cherry Garcia Junkie). I'm
obssesed with politics. I have very strong opinions and I need to
be around others with the same. I make people laugh when i'm not
trying, and can never make them laugh when i try. I probably also
spend too much time online. I go out of my way to smell good. I'm
trying to quit TV but
finding it harder than quitting smoking(going very well). I hate
cold floors in the morning. I have too much clothing but i'm always
telling myself i need more. I don't like the beach but i really
want to(I think it's love-hate). I find it hard to just walk up to
a stranger and start talking. I'm brutally honest and it gets me in
trouble all the time. I hate starting sentences that start with
'I'. I'll never do this again. I think I wrote too much...
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I work at a museum
as an accountant, which is as boring as it sounds but i love my job
anyway. In fact, I'm there right now...how could you not love a job
that can afford the time to allow me to do silly stuff like this?
Usually when i'm not at work I'm trying to create something
beautiful or i'm on my couch being lazy. I have a pretty slow life
but I'm happy with it like that.
Note: I hate this question. It seems like something someones father
would ask.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I can cook an amazing tuna melt among other things. I can usually
tell time without looking at a clock. Give me three bands you love
and i'll introduce to one you've never heard of that you'll
love(some exclusions apply). I'm good at breaking shit but i can
usually fix whatever i broke. I can fix just about any computer. I
can remember vast amounts of useless pop culture trivia. I can do
some damage on a drum
set; I wish i played the piano better though. I can make an awesome
mix cd, i just don't do it anymore. I give a world famous back
massage. I keep my cool in crazy situations where most people would
freak.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Most people also say i'm tall but i don't feel tall. Height seems
more relevant as a fact as opposed to a perspective, but i would
say 6 ft tall is about average. People say i look like Ralph
Macchio(the Karate Kid) all though i might disagree. Sometimes when
i first meet people i have a hard time looking them in the eyes. I
have a firm handshake and an olive complexion with dark hair and
eyes. Most people assume i'm Spanish but some people ask. Sometimes
i tell them something crazy to see their reaction. My favorite is
Inuit.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
Favorite books include Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of
Capricorn by Henry Miller, East of Eden and Tortilla Flat by
John
Steinbeck, Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegas or any Hunter S Thompson. Old Chuck
Palahniuk and any Kurt Vonnegut must be mentioned. Henry Rollins is one of my
favorite prose writers from my past but I just can't do it anymore.
Christopher Moore is great when I'm looking for a lighter read. I
love the 'classics' and would like to own them all. I'm constantly
battling myself on which is more important, my book collection or
my music library. I'm currently reading Revolution by Dr Ron Paul.
Edit: Now reading "Breakfast of Champions" by Kurt Vonnegut and
"American Psycho" by Easton Ellis. I'm moving soon so i packed all
my books, then i had a panic attack...cuz i packed all my books. so
i just went out and got these classics i should have anyway. I want
to start collecting books again. They're like little
trophies....
Favorite movies = difficult. Stanley Kubrick movies are among
the best ever created imho. Darren Aronofsky and Quentin
Tarantino are also masters of their craft, but in all honesty,
most of the time i'd rather watch a mindless comedy or satire.
Honestly, I'm just drawing a blank right now.
Music is a huge part of my life. Usually if i'm not listening to
it, i'm trying to make it. As for influences, I'll just list bands;
Radiohead,
the Beatles
especially John
Lennon, Led
Zeppelin, Tool,
the Flaming
Lips, Elliott Smith, Porcupine Tree, Jeff Buckley,
Muse, The Black Keys,
Deathcab for Cutie, Saul Williams, The Roots, SOAD, Mindless Self
Indulgence(personality gauge), Miles Davis, Queens of the Stone
Age, Broken Social Scene, Massive Attack, Deftones, Aesop Rock, old
Incubus, Immortal Technique, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, John
Coltrane, 311, G-Love, Feist, EBTG, Sean Lennon(yes, John's Son),
Ours, Wilco, Portishead, Pinback, Beck, Soul Coughing, Rage Against
the Machine, jeez this goes on and on. Currently listening to
One Day as
a Lion EP, Kings of Leon Only By the Night, old
Atmosphere, Metric(thank you) and Elliott Smith, various albums. I
can't get enough Elliott lately.. Don't be fooled, i love hip-hop
and jazz equally, i'm just trying to keep this readable.
Last Concert: Modest Mouse
Concert Before Last: Mars Volta
Before that: Langerado Festival
Going to see Kings of Leon Nov 18 in Atlanta...can't freakin' wait!
I love road trips. Also, Atmosphere is Oct 3. Someone was nice
enough to extend their extra ticket and their company...
I love to cook,
especially for others, and I like to try new things with someone
else adventurous. Spanish food is what i was raised
on so i love trying to emulate what was cooked for me as a child. I
also enjoy wine and wine tasting, it momentarily makes me feel rich
and snooty. Fast food is evil...I do a good job of keeping it at
bay.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Granted i have the necessities: my friends and family, weekends,
internet, music, coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Why do human beings even like music? What is it about harmony and
rhythm that recalls such emotion and kinetic energy? How much of
what i was taught in school was wrong? How can i stop my country
from killing, then saying it's for me, or in my name? How the hell
does my phone do all that cool shit? Why doesn't my battery last
longer? Do hamsters in wheels secretly power Tri-Rail? How many
amazing or influential works of literature have been lost forever?
I wonder what ::person:: is doing RIGHT NOW. Are ghosts real? I
want to have an experience. How EXACTLY does the internet work? I
know there's an answer and it's probably beyond my comprehension.
How do you outlaw a plant? Why do people drive like assholes in the
rain? Or ever? Why am i musically retarded? Is there a shadow
government? Why does everything good for you taste bad and
everything bad for you tastes soooo good? Why do i think so much? I
would love to buy somebody something with my thousands of activity
points.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
I've put my party club days behind me so if i'm out, i generally
like to go someplace low key, someplace i can hear the person i'm
with, unless of course, it's a concert and i'll go to just about
any show. Most nights....i just want to stay home and read, or curl
up lazy style with the TV on Discovery Channel. But Saturday night,
that's a whole other story! But you didn't ask about Saturday
night...
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
Sometimes, when the mood strikes me just right, i like to sing in
the shower. When i was a kid, i snorted pixi stix, and that
explains alot. I've never used a social networking site before now,
therefore, I don't have a "Myspace", and probably never will. I've
never met anyone in person that i met first on the internet, but i
want to.
Edit: I met someone from this site on Friday. She's beautiful and
tall and extremely friendly, contratry to her own statements on her
profile. Despite my social hiccups, i'd say the night went very
well. Thanks for being so easy to talk to!
I also want to make funny faces at you. I think my profile is gay.
You should message me if Propose an edit
Ooohh, THIS is the part where i chat myself up...
you're looking for stimulating conversation with a charming young
gentleman, if you can't resist ice cream binges(there's others
like you), some one to play music with, if you have a joke
you just need to tell someone, a Heroes or Lost TV buddy(i can't get enough) or if
you're looking for some really corny lines, or a really soft cat to pet, i think i
may have the softest...ever.
