Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
For better or for worse, I am best described as an artist. I try to
live as creatively as possible through my work, my friendships, and
my experiences. This is not to say that I go through life with my
head in the clouds. I work very hard to combine my absurdities with
my professionalism to stay sane and make a buck.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For work, I build art works and installations for artists and
designers. I am hands for hire for people who have creative ideas,
but don't know how to execute them. Building is one of my
fundamental passions, and helping others realize their projects
allows me to constantly learn new things and travel new
For myself, I try to create objects I feel are missing from our
world. Not that the things I make keep the earth turning. More that
our world functions very rigidly sometimes, and it is fun to be
subversive. My art tries to cultivate a sense of whimsy and wonder.
The question is always how well it succeeds.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Empathizing to a fault. I am quick to put myself in other people's
shoes, and can sometimes see someone else's point of view better
than my own. Until recently, I have seen this as a virtuous
quality, but I am beginning to realize that balance is necessary.
People value my empathy, but they also need me to be my own person.
I think I can be both.
I am also extremely good at laughing. If I am not laughing, I am
often chuckling. When not chuckling, I tend to guffaw. At times
when guffawing would be in bad taste, a subdued snicker might be in
order. Snickering is not for everyone, so in the right company a
playful ejaculation does the trick.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Once, while leaving Home Depot, the cashier told me that I look
exactly like Justin Timberlake, but just in my eyes. Then, a few
months later, a friend of mine saw me walking down the street and
said he thought Justin Timberlake was walking towards him until he
realized it was me. So... I guess the first thing people usually
notice about me is my uncanny physical resemblance to Justin
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Chickens stuffed inside of ducks stuffed inside of turkeys
The friendships between chickens, ducks, and turkeys
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Chocolate rabbits, blown up bird cages, rat suits, red velvet
pillows, refrigerators with worlds inside of them, rope and knots,
golden beers, bubbles that look at me, being a homeless person (but
I am not a homeless person. I have a very nice apartment.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Riding the energy from a busy week to do something exciting. My
work is physically exhausting, so I try to fit a good amount of
activity and relaxation into a weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't actually know what I am doing, but please don't tell anyone
or I will lose my job.
