My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The details of my life are quite inconsequential...

ISTJ ... If you buy into that sort of thing, but I think the description is pretty right on.

I am an engineer, musician and pretty atypical. You likely won't meet anyone else quite like me. I play in a few bands and couldn't imagine my life without music. I can laugh at almost anything and I don't take myself too seriously.

Outside of the above I really can't figure out a good way to fill this part out so here's a list of unrelated facts about myself, in no particular order ... grammar be damned!:

I don't do games (emotional ones that is). I am honest and straightforward and I expect you to be too.

I find helplessness very unattractive.

I was never officially taught the proper usage of a semicolon.

For two consecutive years my two best friends and I flew out to San Francisco almost exclusively to see a band at the Fillmore ... the same band, both years.

Marathons hurt.

I love "obsolete" technology.

My first concert was The Rolling Stones in Philadelphia at age thirteen. That day has had a pretty huge impact on my life.

I've been playing guitar since age twelve. I've been faking piano/organ and drums since age twenty one. I come just short of musical travesty on bass and harmonica. I hope to be adequate, if not proficient, on my mediocre instruments and learn mandolin (I've already started on this one), pedal steel, banjo, and fiddle before I kick the proverbial bucket.

I want to hike Mt. Washington in the near future. Want to join me?

I'm allergic to cats and, as strange as this sounds, VERY allergic to rabbits.

I believe the saying "actions speak louder than words" is a massive understatement.

I almost exclusively wear Argyle socks (see below).

I believe that art and science are absolutely not mutually exclusive.

My only real fear is a boring existence.

I went two years without a real haircut (2009-2011).

I love learning new things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm just trying to find the bridge.

Work, music, repeat. Outside of that, figuring it out I suppose, trying to do what makes me happy: playing music, writing songs, going to shows, reading, running, traveling, going to baseball games, hunting for used vinyl, eating good food, drinking good beers, drinking good whisky, and hanging with good people. I'd like to find myself a good woman to hang with. I suppose that's why I'm on here.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Playing guitar, singing high harmony, staying up late, sleeping though two or more alarms in the morning, reading people, observing the situation, being bad at chess, finding the best places to eat breakfast in a new city, retaining a ridiculous amount of knowledge regarding rock and roll music and musicians, being honest with myself, being honest with you, knowing just about every route between MA and NJ
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't really be sure but ...

"You look like a really handsome Beatle."
- Random woman in concert parking lot.

Books: The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, 1984, Brave New World, Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, anything about rock and roll. I've been reading a lot of nonfiction about music and musicians lately, but I'd love a good novel. Maybe you could recommend one?

Movies: Pulp Fiction, The Naked Gun, Dumb and Dumber, Tombstone, Back to the Future, Star Wars (1977 of course), Almost Famous ... Basically anything NOT done by Michael Bay ... The Big Lebowski, Big Trouble In Little China and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure are next to each other on my movie shelf and I think that's awesome.

Shows: I just got Netflix and I feel it may be the death of me. Just started Breaking Bad ...

Music: THE STONES, Beatles, Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, The Black Crowes, The Band, Traffic, The Kinks, The Raconteurs, Jackie Greene, Ryan Adams, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks, The Black Keys, North Mississippi Allstars, Railroad Earth, Lucinda Williams, Anders Osborne, The Wood Brothers, Tom Petty, Alabama Shakes, Old Crow Medicine Show... and many more. I can't do hip hop/rap, reggae or pop country. I've heard plenty. I won't be converted.

Food: Yes please.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
... too busy winning.

It could be any number of things. Hopefully I'm playing a show but if not I might be hanging with friends, at a show or at home with a good dram and a good record.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

You can finish this line: "When we left Argentina ..."

You have a sense of humor.

You want to play chess.

You understand the difference between confidence and arrogance.

You know that I didn't misspell "whisky" above (seriously, look it up).
