I am sweet, inquisitive, and easygoing.
My Self-Summary
I'm not really sure of the best way to describe myself.
I am a
fashion designer by trade,
although that's not what I'm currently working as. The
arts are very, very important
to me. I love to make things. I'm a
Christian, a
Democrat, an avid
reader, and an unabashed lover of
the color pink (although, I'm having a minor dalliance with purple
at the moment). I love to laugh and learn, and there are few things
I love more than a great
conversation with someone(s) I
like. I like sports. I LOVE
tennis. I know I'm soft-spoken, but I
don't consider myself shy. I am honest and open, but kind and
tactful. I often daydream. I am patient and rarely feel angry. I
never learned to tie my shoes the "right" way.
Good start?
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to figure out what comes next! :)
I work at a costume studio where we produce costumes for shows on
Broadway, celebrities, dance companies, etc. It's exhausting work
sometimes, but being paid to make things all day is pretty much my
dream.
I'm slowly finding a good work/life balance.
I’m really good at
Sewing Finding
creative solutions for projects and problems. Making people smile.
Drawing. Following
directions!
The first things people usually notice about me
Red hair? I think that people can tell that I'm friendly - either
that, or I'm just really great at standing conveniently near to
people who need directions!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I know it's a little cliche, but I love
Jane Austen.
Pride &
Prejudice is my favorite, but I've read everything she's
written. I read a lot of books in varied genres, though. Some of my
other favorite authors are
Douglas Adams,
Gregory Maguire,
Margaret
Feinberg,
Anna Gavalda. I'm making my way
through Random House's list of the 100 Best Novels.
I like most kinds of movies, but I don't care for horror or
excessive gore. I have a great affinity for
foreign films, love stories,
comedies, and
action
flicks. My absolute favorite is
Amelie.
Music is my lifeblood. A few of my favorite bands and artists are
Needtobreathe,
Nickel Creek,
Josh Rouse,
Guster. I think I have enough music
on my iPod to last me weeks. I always leave my playlists on
shuffle. I love it when something unexpected, like a song from
Beauty and the Beast, comes on when I'm tired and on my way home
from work.
I love anything involving coconuts or
pomegranates. I like to try new or
interesting things.
The six things I could never do without
Earrings, my iPod, books, a needle and thread, mascara, and
tea!
I could probably do without all of these things if I tried, or
wanted to, but I seriously prefer to have them in my life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The way things work. I use the word "things" very loosely - I may
be thinking about how broad worldwide systems work, or amazed at
the movement of the muscles in the human body. I kind of love to
admire the world around me.
I also manage to get songs stuck in my head almost all the time.
They continue on repeat until I can figure out how to replace them
with something else. I'm not sure if I consciously think about that
very often, but it's steadily playing on low volume in the back of
my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, having margaritas and talking and laughing.
Otherwise, home relaxing with a book, a sewing project, or a movie
and a cup of tea.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a freckle on my lower lip. I really dig
motorcycles. I have been to a
lot of places in the US, but I've never seen the Rocky Mountains.
You should message me if
You love Jesus, love life, and have a soft spot for smart
redheads.
Or, you know, if your interest is piqued.
