I am geeky, trustworthy, and affectionate.

My Self-Summary

I am a raging geek who spends a good amount of her free time playing games, reading about games, on the Internet, or otherwise doing "geeky" things. Though I couldn't tell you much about the latest gadgets or Linux anything; I'm mostly a plain ol' games geek.

I also like to think I'm at least somewhat good-natured, honest, frugal, well-spoken, etc. etc., but I'd rather let you judge than toot my own horn.

Besides games, my interests include rock and video game music, the occasional book, good stand-up comedy, food, sleeping in, shopping, girls, the usual. Well, and swimming, which I honestly don't get to do enough of.

Also, I am not thin, which I say because I came back to OKCupid one day and found out that for some reason my body type was listed as "thin" in the details field. Ha ha no.

What I’m doing with my life

Losing weight, tying up loose ends, trying to get out more, that kind of thing. Got my license; now time to find wheels. Also, we have a puppy.

I’m really good at

I'm told I'm a good writer, I did well in the social sciences in high school and college, and I'm told I have a knack for getting people to open up to me. But again, I'd rather not sit and toot my own horn.

More recently, I've found myself serving as something of a family secretary, especially regarding checkbooks, bills, and the like. I'm also a good navigator. Seriously, I'm about ready to run out and get a compass and a bunch of fresh 2009 maps, because I'm good with them.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my size. It's not that I'm fat, per se (OK kind of); I'm just a big girl.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

VIDEO GAMES, I don't give a rat's ass it's not in the heading: God Hand, the Legend of Zelda series, the Soul Calibur series, Phantasy Star Universe and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, Mass Effect, the Grand Theft Auto games (namely, Vice City and San Andreas), Bully, The Warriors, Odin Sphere, old-school Final Fantasy (you know, the ones that preceded the good but perhaps overrated FFVII), Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, the Castlevania series (specifically, the subset often referred to as the "Castleroids," including Symphony of the Night as well as the GBA and DS games in the series), the Metroid series, the old Sonic the Hedgehog games (Sonic 3 & Knuckles was one of my favourite games back in the day), the old Seiken Densetsu games (i.e., Secret of Mana, before Square started butchering the franchise--and, hell, I even liked Secret of Evermore), and many others. I used to have more interest in games like Warcraft, Starcraft, traditional console RPGs, the Nippon Ichi strategy RPGs, etc., but then I realized that I suck hard at RTS games and traditional and strategy RPGs have a way of making me come down in fits of narcolepsy.

RPGS, again not caring whether it's in the heading: I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons 4E and Mutants and Masterminds 2E lately. I highly recommend both.

BOOKS: The Harry Potter series, Therese Szymanski's Motor City Thriller/Brett Higgins series, Fingersmith, Tipping the Velvet, Annie on My Mind, America: The Book, V for Vendetta (the graphic novel), Karin Kallmaker romances, and Kashimashi (call it a guilty pleasure).

MOVIES: I don't see as many movies as most. But I did like Chicago, Moulin Rouge (there are simply not enough rock musicals!), and the Austin Powers movies. Saw the better part of the original Pirates of the Caribbean on TV, too; that wasn't bad.

MUSIC: Alice in Chains, Audioslave, the Barenaked Ladies, Collective Soul, Disturbed, HIM, Incubus, KoRn, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, Nightwish, the Offspring, A Perfect Circle, Shinedown, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Staind, the Steve Miller Band, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tool, video game music, etc.

FOOD: Pizza, hamburgers, all that greasy and not-good-for-you stuff. Steak, too. Filet mignon. French fries and fried potatoes. Chicken fries. Ranch sauce. Caesar salad, especially if chicken is involved. Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. Milkshakes. Garlic sauce on real pizza (I miss living in an area with a Domino's). Sometimes, keeping my portions sane is a bit of a challenge.

The six things I could never do without

Love (doesn't the saying go that that's all you need?), girl candy, savory foods, music, the Intarweb, and games. No, that's not in any particular order.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Games. Social issues. Funny stuff people said to me once. Stuff I read in TIME or Newsweek in a doctor's office one day. Romance. Etc.

On a typical Friday night I am

...chillin'. My area is kind of boring.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've been battling clinical depression since adolescence. As of this update, I'm slowly gaining ground.

You should message me if

I'll tell you the truth--if you're a dominant woman looking for a partner of a more submissive nature, or if you're at least open to learning more about relationships built upon such a dynamic.
