Hi my name is Whitney
Hmmm....Right now I am working on my PhD at UAB. Not quite a lab rat yet, but slowly getting there. I like to think of msyelf as a rational person, and I don't like to play mind games. I enjoy going to the occassional bar sitting outside having a drink. I can also spend a weekend sitting at home watching movies and just hanging out. I like hanging with my friends just chatting about random things.
I am not originally from birmingham, so I am always looking for new people and fun interesting things to do. I am very politically incorrect, but always test the waters first. I never intentionally plan to offend people. I think life is something to laugh at and if you can't laugh at life then I find it very difficult.

What I’m doing with my life
Right now I am a graduate student. Looking to meet some fun people
and maybe somone special.
Trying to get myself to the gym more often to get in shape and be more healthy.
I also am looking to learn to play raquetball so if you can play and want to teach a novice hit me up.

The first things people usually notice about me
People tend to tell me that I am funny. After a few minutes they
also learn that I really am a geek. When you are surrounded by as
much science as I am you can't help but be a geek. another thing is
that i tend to be a pessimist as well as sarcastic. Sarcasm really
is my second language. I guess people would also say that I am laid
back and don't take things too seriously.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I really enjoy the Harry Potter series. I am not a fanatic
dressing up and what not, but I have read the books multiple times.
Other books that I enjoy are Life of Pi, Confessions of a
Shopaholic (they make me laugh), Secret life of Bees, and currently
I am reading The Devil in the White City.
Movies: Princess Bride, Love Actually, Blood Diamond, In Her Shoes, Transformers (I know these are an odd combination of movies but I guess it says that I really like movies)
Music: U2, Coldplay, David Grey, Sarah Mclachlan, Alison Kraus, Usher, again I have a wide spectrum
Food: I love food. Sometimes too much.

On a typical Friday night I am
It varies..if I don't have plans I enjoy watching the movie on tv,
relaxing, and being happy that it is friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I burp. Not in the middle of a restaurant on purpose or anything,
but hey sometimes you aren't expecting it. Not the most lady like
but everyone does it, it is natural.

don't be shy like me. I am pretty open to a lot of people but I try
not to surround myself with smokers. If you are trying to quit hit
me up, but I have had too many family health issues with the

just being honest.
