My Self-Summary
Moving to Europe was a breath of fresh air. And while there is not quite the openness to new ideas here, there is a great deal more groundedness and I feel I can bring the positive aspects of my native country and merge them with the benefits of life in Europe, like the appreciation they have for a good quality of life. It's not the stuff you have, it's the quality of the life you live that is important here. When there is a holiday (and there are a lot) people take the day off. Vacation is sacrosanct. And there is universal health care! If you get sick you go to the doctor and don't have to mortgage your house to do it!
And yes, I do complain about things. A few of my European friends have noted how I grumble about things like the phone company, total lack of customer service, etc. But hey, I'm from New York! We complain about everything. And besides, if nobody ever complains, nothing ever changes.
I am a decided optimist, which can sometimes be difficult in today's world, but try not to let difficulties get to me too much. I have a great sense of humor (things are so nutty you've got to laugh).
I'm looking to be in a community of like-minded people, even if we all live at opposite ends of the globe. People who still believe in kindness and compassion, and that there is more to life than the things we see around us.
What I’m doing with my life
I just had a baby daughter in January, something I never thought I would do. But the great thing about polyamory is having more loving parents with whom to help raise a family. We hope to be good examples to her of how love is limitless. And while I am truly enjoying being a parent, it's been nice to finally begin getting back out in the world and remembering that I am not only a mom, but a woman who still loves spending time with a man who can engage my mind, see most things in a positive light, and not take himself too seriously.
I am starting a practice in homeopathy and natural healing, something I find is increasingly useful in our modern toxic world. It is possible to be healthy and still enjoy oneself!
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
B) Amelie, When Harry Met Sally, American Beauty, A Room With a View, The Piano, Tess, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, House M.D., Pushing Daisies. Anything of Charlie Chaplin's.
C) Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennitt, Mark Knopfler, Van Morrison, Bruce Cockburn, Jordi Savall, Eugene Friesen
D) I have a wide variety of taste in food, but sushi is a favourite that I can never get too much of. I love to cook as well, and living in Europe allows me to easily sample some of the best wines in the world!
