My self-summary
I work at a digital ad agency, where I help try to make you want to eat more Oreos. Before you ask, it's not at all like Mad Men. I'm also a modern dancer, and I teach, choreograph, and perform here and there. I'm working part-time on a graduate degree in dance education which involves an ever-growing stack of books about educational theory.

I'm loyal and caring, left-wing and level-headed, intelligent and artistic.
What I’m doing with my life
Lots of dancing, lots of teaching, lots of reading, lots of fun, lots of friends, lots of creating, and probably a bit too much thinking.
I’m really good at
Dancing
Reading
Listening
Building website and apps
Going to grad school (at least, I'm good at it so far)
The first things people usually notice about me
Sometimes people tell me that I have really long eyelashes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Far, far too many books to list, but here are some favorites: Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer, E.B. White essays from The New Yorker, Kipling's Jungle Books, Howard Zinn, A Confederacy of Dunces, and Joyce's Dubliners. Paul Muldoon and Kay Ryan are my favorite poets. Magazine-wise, it's The New Yorker and Harper's.

And music: Beirut, Bach, Birdy, Coltrane, Cat Power, Lou Reed, Doveman, Rilo Kiley, Feist, The Beach Boys (they are awesome, deal with it), Miles Davis, Al Green, Jai Paul, Asheru, Dizzy Gillespie, Glenn Gould, Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire, Matt & Kim, Ornette Coleman, REM, Stevie Wonder, Charles Tolliver, the Pixies. Lately I've been using a lot of 80s music in the dance classes I teach. Tears for Fears!

I'm a big fan of Radiolab, and if you're a political satire fan I recommend The Bugle podcast featuring John Oliver of The Daily Show.
The six things I could never do without
Dance, teaching and performing
Books
Lots of NPR
A cup of tea
Lake houses
Crepes, and things with lemon in them
A progressive agenda
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Oh, let's see... what I want to do after grad school, the upcoming election (we won!), finding new music for class, my current projects, my next projects.
On a typical Friday night I am
Dinner with friends, seeing a performance, performing in a performance, relaxing, reading, playing with my best friend's little kid. I'm more of a cozy French cafe than a loud bar or club person. I can take you swing dancing if you like!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of the walls in my apartment has the most amazing wallpaper you've ever seen.
