I firmly believe that a relationship is best built upon a solid friendship in combination with mutual physical attraction. This is what consonanta and I are currently enjoying. Moreover, I don't think that monogamy has to be the only way for people to achieve fulfillment. (I might be biased however, since I rarely experience jealousy.)
I am on okcupid to make your life more interesting, in return for you enriching my view of the world. And the other way around.
I am currently pursuing a way back into science and academia in form of a PhD position that will complement my day job in a (hopefully) not too stressful symbiosis.
I do enjoy my own company (and the company of books) a lot, but I also have an active social life, attending various technical and philosophical meetups. Sports has recently been on the back-burner since I am busy with my job and social life.
According to consonanta I have a certain glint in my eyes which was the first thing she remembered noticing about me.
I have also been told that I am way more cuddly than I appear on first sight but I don't exactly go around and hug everyone who notices me. (Still have to try the "free hugs"-sign thing though...)

With varying degrees of faithfulness: Game of Thrones, Futurama, Dr. House, Pioneer One, Monty Python's flying Circus and Southpark. Also, Daria.
In no particular order, Bach, Käpt'n Peng, Burzum, SoaD, Type O Negative, Rob Zombie, WIZO, Phonoelit, Alle Farben, KoRn, Rammstein, paniq, STS... in general, just show me something that you probably won't encounter on your average radio station but which has more than 100.000 likes on youtube and I'll probably find something to like about it as well. Once in a while I can have hours of fun dancing to drum&bass while at other times I like to headbang to a variety of metal styles. I am also of the opinion that dubstep doesn't necessarily suck, regardless of what southpark tries to tell people.
My current personal bubble: xkcd, smbc, reddit, lesswrong, soup, reddit, twitter, TED, fetlife, fefe, wikipedia, faz, zeit, spon, irc, xmpp, ssh, email.
I love Sushi and Indian food. Chinese not so much, Italian only sometimes, Norwegian dishes (or Scandinavian in general) can be awesome as well. I like to cook stews, mostly based on cabbage or lentils. And the existence of butter and (curd) cheese will probably forever prevent me from living a vegan lifestyle. (I don't have a total lack of egoism.) Finally, I have an above-average affection for uncooked vegetables.
What would happen to society if an unconditional income for any member is guaranteed and no one would have to work for a living but is still free to pursue all kinds of activities to make some extra money?
What would be the safest place on earth in the event of a global thermonuclear conflict?
How would I go about getting to the Amundsen-Scott research station on short notice?
What if Nirvana (in the nihilistic interpretation) actually makes sense as a goal state to a perfect consciousness? Would this impact attempts of creating a genuinely useful GAI?
What if (as somewhat of a corollary), the explanation of the Fermi paradox is that the philosophical "state of the art" of any (collection of) intelligent being(s) will inevitably reach a (global?) optimum of existential nihilism (or alternatively, "terminal hedonism") that eradicates any expansive momentum (or just the will to procreate), dooming the universe to remain a barren place with some rare and short-lived pockets of independently evolved life that never reaches beyond their home planet(s)?
Will mentioning Roko's basilisk openly on the Internet doom me to eternal torture by a future unfriendly artificial super intelligence and have I doomed you as well when you clicked the link?
How can taxonomists call my species "homo sapiens sapiens" with a straight face?
How do I convince you that, despite all this, I am actually a pretty cheerful and non-gloomy person?
If you'd join me in randomly interrogating people with headphones about what kind of music they are listening to on the subway.
If you don't have a profile picture.
If you would be up for walking around, wearing our left shoes on the right and our right shoes on the left foot and congratulating everyone who notices.
If you avoid treading on the cracks in the sidewalk.
If you have an absolute favorite book that you think every sentient being should have read but you can't find it on my list above.
If you'd like to break into public swimming pools, botanic gardens or locked parks at night and stay there till sunrise.

If improvising alcoholic cocktails, while discussing aspects of philosophy and getting steadily less sober doesn't sound scary to you.
If "living it" is not your only answer when I ask you "what are you doing with your life?"
If lying around together, each reading their current favourite book and quoting meaningful passages to each other, while outside the rain rages against the window panes sounds as romantic to you as it does to me.
If you can come up with more ideas like this.
