My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
East coast guy loving the west coast!. As long as there is someplace to go outside for a walk, hike, climb, swim I won't be bored.

Snowboarding is my passion! I love it. There is nothing else on earth that can motivate, ground, humble, and excite you while allowing for some of the most contemplative moments in ones life. :-)

Divorced (9 year marriage) - have kids and shared custody - they have a mom, (not needing to fill that position for them) -

I'm looking to have fun, share good times with good people. I'm kind and generous with my friends, I love enjoying a good hike or a good beer with awesome people. Taking life too seriously isn't worth it,

I Live life, enjoy the company I keep, and let life guide my way. I believe people who are actively seeking a long term relationship will probably miss the best things in life, and honestly those are ironically the things that lead to a happy relationship - short or long.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Building my career on the west coast.

I've chosen a career that is something I enjoy, and can provide for me and my family to have what we need and some of what we want.

Working is a means of life, not a way of life. I enjoy my work and would probably do it if I didn't have need of an income. I strive I live my life in a way that would be something that wouldn't dramatically change at retirement.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- being a Dad, but I have it easy in this one (I somehow ended up with the best kids in the world)

- trivia, I know a lot of obscure business.

- fixing things that have broken. It's a bit of a hobby. I'll fix things I don't want anymore just to give them away. It can be relaxing.

-sarcasm, I have a habit of delivering sarcasm in a straight fashion that it doesn't get always noticed, except by me, and that keeps me laughing, quietly to myself at least.

- snowboarding! The last time I went snowboarding was back on the east coast. A good buddy of mine and I would hike up non-snowboarding mountains and snowboard down, at night, with headlamps (and helmets of course).

-Woodworking, it's a fun and relaxing thing to do. Building something you can use and get a sense of pride; Getting the kids involved and teaching them is a great time too, so long as you don't expect the project to move quickly with the big helpers along for the ride.

-being able to find humor in almost anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People say that I have very . . . Oh I guess you'll just have to meet me to find out ;-)

A list of some that I like a lot:

Books: One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, Slouching Towards Bethlehem (not a religious book), Up From Slavery, confessions of an Economic Hit Man, the Autobiography of Malcolm X, most Dr. Seuss books (his genius isn't fully understood until you read them to a child).

Movies: Forrest Gump (all time favorite), Casablanca, The Boondock Saints, Happy Gilmore, the Departed, Office Space, the Hangover, Full Metal Jacket, 500 Days of Summer, Priceless, Sabrina (with Bogart), Charade, Bourne series, MegaMind,

Shows: New Girl, Walking Dead, Castle, Modern Family, SAMCRO, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Archer, Mash, the office, Firefly,

Music: Rusted Root, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Barenaked Ladies, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine, Dean Martin, the Beatles, Nirvana, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Queen, Beastie Boys, Violent Femmes, Jimmy Buffet, Grateful Dead,

Food:
-Thai, Indian, classic American Fare, Sushi,
-Just about anything from my mothers recipe book.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(ignoring basics here) going with the less obvious and boring stuff.- (oh, you need air, shelter, food, and family- fuck people way to put yourself out there. )

-mountains with trees and hiking trails.
-coffee, I really love good coffee but I know what it's like to miss coffee enough to enjoy Folger's instant.
-the occasional evening alone with the lights off, candles burning, and some good Cab. You can feel free to call me gay, and I'll feel free to tell you to fuck right off! But honestly, it's absolutely wonderful, or should I say FABULOUS!
-traveling, whenever, wherever on short notice (not that it happens too much lately but I'm working on getting back in the groove)
-Dr Seuss, Roald Dahl, and JK Rowling.
-flip flops/sandals (while I love being barefoot, I hate glass shards in my feet)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
A better way to do something than the way it's been handed to me. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but if handed a square wheel I do see room for improvement.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Home with kiddos, working or going out with friends, It is also amazing who you meet when you go out, alone, that is, when you're not trying to "Hook up".

Being on this coast for a little over a year an working a lot I don't have a huge social group. If we hit it off romantically awesome, if not and you're cool I'd be up for continuing as friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I grew up and lived most of my life in NH - I've never tried clam chowder. :-/
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're a good person, like other good people, tip waitstaff generously (if you can) and understand that I am not good at this online dating stuff and that a profile doesn't do anyone justice.

If you message me I'll respond - even if I'm not into you on a romantic level - I am an open book. --- the cover may be a little worn, and aside from a few coffee stains and dog ears definitely at least a good weekend reader. :-)

KCCO!
