My self-summary
Single dad, originally from the east coast. Be easy to get along with and well probably get along just fine ;-)

While a date would be fun I'm definitely down for a casual get together with one person or a group.

Also, I work full time, like to be outdoors, and travel.
What I’m doing with my life
Building my career again, and more, but this time on the west coast.

I've chosen a career that is something I enjoy, and can provide for me and my family to have what we need and some of what we want.

Working is a means of life, not a way of life.
I’m really good at
- being a Dad, but I have it easy in this one (I somehow ended up with the best kids in the world)

- trivia, I know a lot of obscure business.

- fixing things that have broken. It's a bit of a hobby. I'll fix things I don't want anymore just to give them away. It can be relaxing.

-sarcasm, I have a habit of delivering sarcasm in a straight fashion that it doesn't get always noticed, except by me, and that keeps me laughing, quietly to myself at least.

- snowboarding! The last time I went snowboarding was back on the east coast. A good buddy of mine and I would hike up non-snowboarding mountains and snowboard down, at night, with headlamps (and helmets of course).

-Woodworking, it's a fun and relaxing thing to do. Building something you can use and get a sense of pride; Getting the kids involved and teaching them is a great time too, so long as you don't expect the project to move quickly with the big helpers along for the ride.

-being able to find humor in almost anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
These questions are slightly annoying. This is one of those things other people should be telling me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Here's a short list of some that I like a lot:

Books: One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Up From Slavery, confessions of an Economic Hit Man, the Autobiography of Malcolm X, most Dr. Seuss books (his genius isn't fully understood until you read them to a child).

Movies: Forrest Gump, Casablanca, The Boondock Saints, Happy Gilmore, the Departed, Office Space, the Hangover, Full Metal Jacket, 500 Days of Summer, Priceless, Sabrina (with Bogart), Charade, Bourne series, MegaMind,

Shows: New Girl, Walking Dead, Castle, Modern Family, SAMCRO, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, MacGyver, the office, Firefly,

Music: Rusted Root, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Barenaked Ladies, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine, Dean Martin, the Beatles, Nirvana, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Queen, Beastie Boys, Violent Femmes, Jimmy Buffet, Grateful Dead,

Food:
-Thai, Indian, classic American Fare, Sushi,
-Just about anything from my copy of my mothers recipe book.
The six things I could never do without
Fucking Maslow (ignoring basics here) going with the less obvious and boring stuff.

-mountains with trees and hiking trails.
-coffee, I really love good coffee but I know what it's like to miss coffee enough to enjoy Folger's instant.
-the occasional evening alone with the lights off, candles burning, and some good Cab. You can feel free to call me gay, and I'll feel free to tell you to fuck right off! But honestly, it's absolutely wonderful, or should I say FABULOUS!
-traveling, whenever, wherever on short notice (not that it happens too much lately but I'm working on getting back in the groove)
-Dr Seuss, Roald Dahl, and JK Rowling.
-flip flops/sandals (while I love being barefoot, I hate glass shards in my feet - those suck!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A better way to do something than the way it's been handed to me. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but if you bring me a square wheel I do see room for improvement and modification.
On a typical Friday night I am
Home with kiddos, working or meeting new peopl., It amazing who you meet when you go out, alone, and you're not trying to "Hook up".

Three of the best friends I've had since moving here had have all moved out of the country (I was showering, honest). I'm not tapped out of friends but I spent most of my non work non daddy time with them do I have a slight adventure deficiency.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I grew up and lived most of my life in NH - I've never tried clam chowder. :-/
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, activity partners
You should message me if
You can make ice cubes, you are not afraid to say hi to new people, you are nice to those who can give you a raise and to those who couldn't give you anything if they wanted to.

You are interested in knowing more about me, but be polite. If I take the time to answer a question replying back is only good manners (and karma). You won't hurt my feelings.
