I'm pretty easy to make laugh, and often crack dumb jokes. I just can't help myself. I like having a beer in a bar with a good jukebox but I hate crowded clubs, unless a really good band is playing. I make a great travel companion.

Okay, this profile has been quite spare for some time, perhaps demonstrating my ambivalence about this whole project. I will, now, try to say more.

I'm quick-witted and well-versed in culture and books, but fairly unpretentious. I'm by no means a collector, but I have strong tastes. I don't need to be impressed by your music collection or knowledge of 70's cinema, but I will enjoy learning about and discussing whatever moves you. I have very strong political opinions and have devoted my life to something I believe in, but I hate electoral politics and tend to avoid much of the public debate. With that said, I am decidedly and unapologetically about as left as you can get. I'm a fantastic dinner party guest. Oh, and I spend much more time in friends' kitchens and living rooms than in bars these days.

I'm a public defender. And yes, night court is just like the TV show. In all seriousness, I have my dream job. I love being a trial attorney and I love fighting for my clients. I also have strong opinions about the morality (or immorality) of the criminal justice system, so don't get me started.

Borges, Calvino, The Russians, Joseph Roth, Wittgenstein. Just finished Call It Sleep by Henry Roth. Highly recommend.
