I'm an aspiring writer of
fiction and poetry currently living in
Washington DC, my hometown. I enjoy writing, reading, listening to
good music, going to live shows, seeing good movies, swearing, dry
snitching, a good beer or cocktail, playing board or card games,
cooking or having a great meal out. I'm a fan of the absurd, both
real and imagined. I also consider myself a good listener and giver
of good advice, solicited of course. I can see the humorous side of
almost every situation.
I'm here to meet new friends, possibly meet someone to date,
because in real life, I'm pretty reserved when it comes to meeting
new people. I'd like to meet people who share my interests and
could possibly turn me on to something new. You should be
passionate about life and what lies beyond cubicle nation.
I'm working on completing my first novel as well as a collection of
short stories. Also trying to finish at least one of the games in
the
Grand
Theft Auto trilogy, but mostly I'm reading and writing. I've
finished forty typed pages of my novel which if you're a writer
also you know it is a Pretty Big Deal (tm).
I've just started a paralegal certificate program. I'm looking
forward learning about the law and hopefully getting into a real
career. It's been a long time coming for sure.
Making people feel better with humor, cooking, singing along with
the radio, predicting who's going to win the game, giving dudes the
Wrong Idea, picking the right music to create ambience. Also, I'm a
closeted pinball wizard. I do kick-ass dream interpretations also.
My smile. And my voice has a tendency to carry, so maybe people
notice that...?
Books: Lately it's been all about books about
writing with some classics
thrown in for good measure. The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Line of
Beauty, The Joke, the
Tales of the City series,
Maybe the Moon, A Widow for One Year, The World According to Garp,
If You Want to Write by Brenda Ueland, The Brooklyn Follies by
Paul Auster.
He's officially my literary hero. Just finished Push by
Sapphire; there's a book
that makes you grateful for your own life right there. Right now
I'm reading Norton Best American Short Stories 2008, edited by
Salman Rushdie - there are so many treasures in this volume.

Food: If it's spicy I'm down. Thai, "Chinese," Japanese,
good old Southern food, Italian, Caribbean. But I have much love
for breakfast foods; nothing like a good waffle or short stack.
Lately I've been cheating on meat with more salad and vegetables.
Don't tell, meat gets crazy jealous...

Life's deepest, most penetrating questions. Like, will I ever get
the nerve to contact my Quiver matches?
..down in the park with a friend called 5.
One time, I got so baked I tried to make a long distance call to
Hell. I think the operator was high too because she said, "Sheeet,
from DC to Hell is a local call."
Alright you got me - this is a lie. Everyone knows the only way to
reach Hell is via text message. Standard text messaging rates
apply.
If I at least made you giggle a little as you read my profile. You
should also message me if you have a clear idea about what you want
out of this whole OKC thing - I'm not DTF FYI, OK? (Note: if you
cannot spot tongue-in-cheek, then...wow, just wow) Both
non-judgmental men and women are encouraged to send me a note and
of course, writers of all kinds are welcome.
