My self-summary
My name is Brian. I studied Geology and Photography in college and don't use either one in my work (I work in a local manufacturing plant). I have a really cute cat named Cassie that plays fetch and talks a lot.
I grew up down near Ocean City, NJ and I make the drive pretty often to spend time with my dad. And by spending time, I mean drinking bourbon and watching good (or really bad) movies together while our cats play-fight and run around the house. Good times.
I quit smoking cigarettes in April, but it doesn't bother me to be around people who smoke.
I play a bunch of instruments, mostly of the strings-and-frets variety. Almost two years ago now I joined a band that I've been friends with for a while and it's exciting to be writing and recording new music. We've recorded a new album this past year and it should be getting released in the fall. I can't wait.

I haven't been taking photos much lately (and haven't posted any new ones on my flickr in a long time), but if you'd like to take a look;

What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to Haddon Heights in July, so right now I'm still getting the hang of getting around and finding places. So far I like it, and not having roommates anymore is pretty great.

I work for a company that manufactures prescription shoe inserts (so very interesting, I know). Basically I spend the day grinding plastic on a big belt sander while singing along to my ipod.
It's loud and dirty and my hands get a little beat up by the machines sometimes; but so far I really like it, and it pays the bills.
I’m really good at
I enjoy playing all sorts of instruments. I like the challenge of learning how to play a new one, and from what I've been told I'm pretty ok at a few of them.
Like I mentioned, I haven't been taking many photos lately, but I do like to think I can cobble together a decent image with my phone for instagram.
Or I just take pictures of my cat. That happens a lot too. Maybe too much.
The first things people usually notice about me
They have to look up to talk to me?

A lot of people notice how quiet I am. It used to be mainly from shyness, but now I think it's more that I like to kind of sit back and listen more than I like to talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music:
The Mountain Goats, Death Cab For Cutie, The Dear Hunter, The Postal Service, Okkervil River, Dom, Fang Island, Childish Gambino, Girl Talk, Alestorm, Modest Mouse, Hop Along Queen Ansleis, Jason Anderson, Camera Obscura, Tilly and the Wall, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, Matt & Kim, Nana Grizol, Defiance Ohio, Desaparecidos, Cursive, Thao with the Get Down Stay Down
Lately, while at work, I've been listening to a lot of the stuff I listened to in junior high, high school, and early college like green day, the get up kids, blink-182, new found glory, saves the day, the starting line, the ataris; anything fast and catchy, really.

TV Shows:
Top Gear (UK), @Midnight, South Park, Futurama, Parks and Rec, Archer, 30 Rock, Breaking Bad, Lost (I stopped at the second to last season and I still haven't gotten myself to finish it).
I'm very grateful to have access to netflix, hulu+, and amazon prime. I'm definitely spoiled when it comes to streaming services.
The six things I could never do without
Family
Friends
My cat
A musical instrument of some kind
A camera, even if it's just the one on my phone
TV/movies of some sort
On a typical Friday night I am
Down at my Dad's house, but hopefully in the fall/winter I'll be playing some shows here and there on the weekends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never watched any of the Star Wars movies, and I don't care to.

The first cassette tape I ever bought was Vanilla Ice. I was five.

I've seen every episode of Top Gear (UK) that is on netflix at least three times. There are 149 episodes on there, and they're all about an hour long. I'm a huge nerd when it comes to that show, but I still know absolutely nothing about how cars actually work or how to fix anything on them.
