I am courageous, charming, and challenging.

My Self-Summary

I am excited about life - probably for the first time in my life. I have always marvelled at the ride of life, but often wanted to get off. ['Stop this Train' by John Mayer plays in the background]. I have learnt that life is not that serious, but that ever moment counts. I think the small things are important (a kiss on my neck, a look, a word)- but i am up for living large without apology. I cannot be anyone but myself.

I have recently started my dream job that is equally a passion and a challenge.

I value integrity and attempted to live by the principles of truth and compassion. The most important things to me are to be open-minded, sincere, and thoughful... [probably more than that..]

I want a sexy, smart, funny guy who is comfortable with being himself, but is also sensitive to the people around him. I need to express the many aspects of me - and i enjoy both the intellectual and physical.

Much to say...

What I’m doing with my life

As i said i am working my dream job. So its not a job but a calling [then why can't it start at 10-11 AM?]. I am living with 2 cool flatmates. Taking each day as it comes. Just finished 5 years of study so need to travel NZ soon and see the sights. And hopefully some nice men in NZ. ;)

I’m really good at

Being a caring and genuine friend. Listening not judging.

Creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. I love having a good vibe and for people to be having fun whether it is stimulating conversation, watching movies, dinner out or in, spending time.. I can be a bit of an introvert, and often masquerade as an entrovert, so sometimes i'm dancing crazy/sexy/cool in the middle of the dance floor - or be keeping to myself and enjoying the scene.

Too many to mention here....
- um, avoiding questions like this.

The first things people usually notice about me

My open, friendly smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music -
Very important to me - Jill Scott, Portishead, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke and all the classic soul masters, (fav voices - John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, Tiki, John Mayer). NZ music like Fat Freddy's Drop, Katchafire, Salmonella Dub, Ladi 6, Black Seeds, Hollie Smith .... I also like hip hop - Nas, Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, ... And others like D'angelo, Maxwell, NERD, Alicia Keys, Missy... Oldies like The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, some Clapton and Dylan.... I love musical expression and especially love a good voice... sexy, soulful, searching. I'm always interested in new musical forms and i am into much more than listed here.

Books - (i am a Bibliophile after all)
I love literary ficition, such as -
Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugendies, Jonothan Safran Foer - Extremely loud and incredibly close, Michel faber - the crimson and the petal, isabelle allende - house of the spirits, rohinton mistry - a fine balance, J.M Coetzee, Cold Skin - Albert Sanchez Pinol, Toni Morrison - esp, The Bluest Eye, Beloved, and Song of Solomon, Salman Rushdie - esp. Satanic Verses, Shalamir the clown, and Fury, Richard Wright - esp. Black Boy and The Outsider, Albert Camus - The Outsider, Herman Hesse - Steppenwolf & many more...

I am very interested in living in the present moment and i have found Eckhart Tolle's book inspirational - A New Earth, Stillness Speaks, The Power of Now. This is part philosphy of living (much like the Tao) and part spirituality. It is about the state of human consciousness and how indivdually and collectively we are only ever respoinsbile for ourselves and the present moment. Time is an illusion and we are all connected... The philosophy of living in "the now" is for people who are courageous enough to let go of the past, know we can not predict the future (except through our actions within the present). It is about reclaiming the present moment - the only moment that exists.

I also love non-ficition - primarily political, environmental, and historical topics (yes i know thats broad - but sheesh i can't list them all).

Movies - My other passion
Classics -ET, Dark Crystal, Never-ending story, Watership Down, Groundhog Day, Dirty Dancing, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Fried Green Tomatoes, Pretty Woman (yes, i do like some chick flicks).

But my inspirations are Woody Allen, Charlie Kaufman (playwright), Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Spike Lee, and Steven Speilberg, Steven Soderberg, Scorcese, ...

Talented Mr Ripley, American Beauty, Royal Tennebaums, Lost in Translation, Sideways... lots and lots more. Clash of the Titans.

Documentaries too.

Food -
Thai, Japanese (especially with lots of Sake!), Italian (pasta dishes, pizza, wine), fresh seafood, mexican!

Fresh fish, avocado on toast (with cracked black pepper and salt), mangoes, the smell of garlic and celery, ...

The six things I could never do without

Besides the obvious (food, water, oxygen, shelter) -

True people and emotions

Inspiration/Beauty

Love/Connection

Intellectual stimulation/followed by other stimulation.

Space

Challenges/Meaning

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The state of the world, the state of the environment, what motivates people, what the point of life is, spirituality, sex, what to do next in my life,...

Love

On a typical Friday night I am

It depends on where my energy is. I dislike doing things in a predictable way, i like spontaneity (with enough time to look fab - JK), i am almost turned off by the 'usual' things - go to pub and drink til wasted (although that can be fun). I am up for whatever - if it suits. I like to use my imagination, go somewhere different. Get inspired. And sometimes that happens to be in front of the TV. :)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

well it depends on the person.

How about?... i used to have piercings.
