My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Out here being a Lincoln, not a Bevers.

Raised in CA, came to NYC for college and never left. September'll be my 10 year anniversary in this city. Kind hearted, quick witted, sharp tongued, never certain of when to hyphenate.

Whenever I go to the bodega below my apartment to buy beer, they always round my purchase down to the nearest dollar. I like to think it's because they know I'm a tastemaker, but I also am pretty sure it's just because they hate making change.

I think this guy is cool as all hell: (also if you know a lot about drums or drumming hit me up because i have a number of questions about the video)

i hate this username so much but i'm not paying to change it
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My biggest brush with celebrity: I asked Stacy London (via Twitter) what the difference between a shootie and a bootie is. She couldn't give me a satisfactory answer. Can you?

I work in the outskirts of the film industry. I'm done with it, so I'm currently deciding what I want to do for the rest of my life. It's a tough decision.

But that's okay, because I do a lot of non-work stuff. I cook, I go out, I stay in. I tweet and I photoshop and I generally just try to have a good time on the internet. And off of it, too.

Zoos! That's one thing I'm doing with my life. Going to zoos.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spilling coffee on myself, navigating the subway, listening. And my dad says I'm a "very good conversationalist".

Ill-advised Google searches. Safesearch off, natch.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look a lot like Oscar Wilde and if I've had enough of something (like french fries or cherries or whatever), I'll say "I'm good off that".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

NB: if you want to skip this, I understand - it's a little long. the gist of it is "most of the stuff everyone else likes too, except game of thrones which I'm just not too into"

Authors: Pratchett, French, Flynn, Wodehouse. On my "To Read" list: Vonnegut, Pynchon, Atwood.

Flicks: Die Hard, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Men In Black, documentaries about cool/weird stuff, Indiana Jones and whatever, westerns, Escape From New York. I saw The Expendables 2 in theaters and will tell you all about it (but only if you ask).

TV Shows: RuPaul's Drag Race, Archer, Broad City, Twin Peaks, Parks & Rec, Party Down, The Wire, Bob's Burgers, Always Sunny, Law & Order (Briscoe/Green era), Wilfred, OITNB, TNG, DS9, Married With Children. Next on the list: Deadwood.

Eats: Bolognese in the style of my momma (it's just Newman's Own over ground beef), sandwiches on seriously hearty bread, spinach salads. I think I'm going to join a CSA this spring.

Listening to podcasts, mostly on the Maximum Fun network. "Any Way You Want It" is the best Journey song, both for listening and singing at karaoke (one of my favorite activities). Don't come in my house with some "Don't Stop Believing" nonsense.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- bars with free popcorn
- a pen (current favorite is the Pilot Precise V5 - i've got a pink one that i use on all official office paperwork)
- bagels (everything > whole wheat everything > sourdough > poppyseed > all the rest of the bagels > salt)
- the last five minutes of free bird (deal with it)
- a big old coat in the winter or some handmade shorts in the summer
- a big old mug to pour coffee into (i take it with milk or half+half, no sugar - sorry if that's a dealbreaker)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Did my cat try to eat my cactus?
- Should I move to the island of cats?
- How many cups of coffee is too many?
- What are the best dog breeds?

(labs and retrievers who wear bandannas > shibas and corgis > other dogs)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Finding some bar where the music is good and not too loud, the drinks are strong, and the conversation is decent.

Or eating pizza and watching Netflix at home. I can always go out on Saturday if I want.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a fascination with Bar Rescue that teeters on the brink of unhealthy. And I wish I'd thought of the Jon Taffer RP twitter account first.

You want to go to the Museum of Morbid Anatomy.

You want to go and drink cocktails with me at 8pm and then drink beers at 11pm and eat pizza at 1am and then maybe get another beer.

You can teach me some yoga.

You love animals a whole bunch.

You've got a sense of humor, you're interested in local travel (road trips, train trips, probably not plane trips), you're not allergic to cats.
