I am deliberate, adventurous, and proud.

My Self-Summary

I'm a romantic at heart - about relationships, about the world, about the Universe. I'm an East Coast transplant but I know enough to know that wherever I am is home, and I'm eight years in this bitch so California's a part of me, too. My favorite weather pattern is the summer thunderstorm. I love writing but I rarely get around to it anymore, and I love reading but I do that even less. I handle my business pretty well, but I'm usually lost in the details up until the last moment. I really, truly, deeply love watching sunsets.

I grew up in a happily broken home - my parents split up when I was in 1st grade, but it's all love and I wouldn't have it any other way. I enjoy transitions in life; they're ripe and full of juice and remind me of all the possibilities. I have enough regrets to spend a lifetime or two in contemplation but that seems like a waste of time to do all at once, so I space it out pretty well.

What I’m doing with my life

Building + biding. I look at all this time in terms of trajectories, and I believe, against my instincts, in putting in work. So, professionally speaking, I'm working at a company I love, doing work I've adored since I was in grade school, and I'm dedicating a lot of my personal resources to that endeavor in the belief that it will pay off. That's my romantic way of saying I spend a lot of time at work, and on work even when I'm not at the building.

But I'm also keeping up, or trying to, with my various hobbies. Writing, photography, rock climbing, biking around town on nights of partying, and generally kickin it.

I’m really good at

explaining things.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

On the media tip, my tastes are all over.

6 movies: Heat, 12 Angry Men, The Seventh Seal, Lost in Translation, V for Vendetta, Princess Mononoke

5 books: We The Living, Forever War, Fahrenheit 451, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Calvin & Hobbes

3 authors: Neruda, Rilke, Shakespeare

Music...all over the place. I spent the last decade or so listening to hip-hop and now I'm discovering all this other stuff that came out during that time.

The six things I could never do without

i'd like to think of this list as being empty

I spend a lot of time thinking about

efficiency.
